GREETING:
In the name of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts you are hereby required to notify and warn the inhabitants of the Town of Saugus, qualified to vote in Town Elections and Town Affairs to assemble in the High School Hall on Monday, March 12, 1934, at 8:15 O'clock, to hear and act on the following articles, viz:
ARTICLE 1. To see if the Town will vote to rescind the vote passed at the Annual Town Meeting held February 14, 1934, under Article 10 of the Warrant for said meeting appropria- ting $13,000 for supplies and/or tools, and/or equipment, in connection with Civil Works projects; or to see what action the Town will take in the matter, agreeable to the petition of the Board of Selectmen.
ART. 2. To see if the Town will vote to appropriate the sum of $27,000 for supplies, and/or tools, and/or equipment and/ or telephone expenses to be used in connection with Civil Works projects carried on during 1934 for or by the Highway, Water,

Unanimous consent was granted to John Bucchiere to offer a motion to the meeting.
Voted: That it is the sense of this Town Meeting that the Moderator appoint a committee of five to conduct and lay plans for a special safety campaign in the Town of Saugus beginning May 1st 1934 and ending Sept. 1, 1934. 9:05 P. M.

ARTICLE 9. Voted: That the laying out of a town way from Springdale Avenue to a private way known as Grandview Avenue across land of D. B. Willis and others, as made and reported by the Selectmen in accordance with report and plan filed in the office of the Town Clerk be accepted and that the Selectmen be and they are hereby authorized to acquire by purchase or take by eminent domain under Chapter 79 of the General Laws an easement or easements in the land adjoining the location of said way consisting of the right to have the land of the location protected by having the surface of the adjoining land slope from the boundary of the location, and that the sum of ($710.00) seven hundred ten dollars be and the same is hereby appropriated for the payment of land damages occasioned by the acceptance, laying out and con- struction of said way and by the acquisition of the easement or easements of slope hereby authorized to be acquired.

Taylor, a parcel of land containing approximately 5,000 feet adjoining a portion of the southwesterly boundary of Stackpole field as shown on Assessor's plan 1028-Lot A-15, now owned by the Town, such conveyance to be subject to such restrictions or conditions relative to fencing the Southwesterly boundary of said Stack- pole's Field playground including the parcel so conveyed to the Town, as may be set forth in the deed. ARTICLE 28. In compliance with Chapter 269 of the Acts of 1933 the Planning Board held a public hearing, issued a final report and recommended the passage of the following voted motion under this Article.
Voted: That the zoning by-law be and the same is hereby amended by striking out Section 22 thereof and inserting in place thereof the following:
"Sec. 22. BOARD OF APPEALS. A board of Appeals con- sisting of three members to be appointed by the Selectmen is hereby established. The members of said board origin- ally appointed shall hold office for terms severally expiring

in the years 1935, 1936, and 1937 on the day following the annual election of town officers at the annual town meet- ings to be held in such years and at the time of original appointment, the Selectmen shall designate the respective term of each appointee. Upon the expiration of the term of office of any such member the Selectmen shall appoint a member to hold office for a term expiring on the day following the annual election of town officers at the annual town meeting to be held in the third year succeeding the year in which such appointment is made. The Selectmen shall also appoint three associate members of such board in like manner and for like terms. Such board of Appeals shall have and may exercise all the rights, powers, duties and privileges granted to boards of appeal in Section 30 of Chapter 40 of the General Laws as now or hereafter amended and such other rights, powers, duties and priv- ileges as may now or hereafter be granted to the board of appeals under this zoning by-law or under any other by- law of the town or any other provisions of law applicable to boards of zoning appeals."

ART. 6. To see if the Town will appropriate the sum of $13.86 to pay for damages done to house of one Misk, 337 Essex Street by water thawing apparatus; or to see what action the Town will take in the matter. Town Accountant.
ART. 7. To see if the Town will vote to appropriate the sum of $2,000.00 for Tax Titles; or to see what action the Town will take in the matter, agreeable to the petition of the Tax Collector.
ART. 8. To see if the Town will vote to appropriate the sum of $700.00 for the purpose of purchasing a new car for the Chief of Fire Department; or to see what action the Town will take in the matter, agreeable to the petition of the Board of Fire Engineers.
ART. 9. To see if the Town will appropriate the sum of $625.63 for unpaid bills for lighting the Boston-Salem Turn- pike from December 1, 1931 to March 1, 1933, due the Com- monwealth of Massachusetts under Chapter 447, Acts of 1931; or to see what action the Town will take in the matter. Town Accountant.
ART. 10. To see if the Town will appropriate the sum of $1,000 for the purpose of cleaning out the brook which runs from Central Street near the Felton School to Vine Street, and from thence to Highland Avenue, and from thence to Cen- tral Street, near the High School, for its entire length, as above described; or to see what action the Town will take in the matter, agreeable to the petition of Edward Gibbs, Jr., and others.
ART. 11. To see if the Town will vote to authorize the Treas- urer, with the approval of the Selectmen, to borrow money for general municipal purposes under authority of and in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 49 of the Acts of 1933; or take any action relative thereto, agreeable to the petition of the Town Treasurer and the Board of Selectmen.

ART. 12. To see if the Town will vote to amend the Zoning By-Law by striking out Section 24 thereof; or to see what action the town will take in the matter, agreeable to the petition of Town Counsel.
ART. 13. To see if the Town will vote to instruct the Select- men that all streets hereafter be laid out by the Selectmen for acceptance be laid out under the provisions of the Statutes relative to the assessments of betterment; or to see what action the Town will take in the matter, agreeable to the petition of Harry W. Merrill and others.
ART. 14. To see if the Town will vote to appropriate $3,900 for the water maintenance account, or to see what action the Town will take in the matter.
ART. 15. To see if the Town will vote to appropriate $1,000 for the expenses of the Town Infirmary, or to see what action the Town will take in the matter, agreeable to the petition of the Board of Public Welfare.
