To see if the Town will vote to take by eminent domain, gift, purchase or otherwise, a part of Lot A-56 on Assessors' Plan 2017 at the corner of Birch Street and Lincoln Avenue, now owned by Stan- ley Anderson, said land to be used for highway purposes and as shown on a plan filed in the office of the Town Clerk, or to see what action the Town will take in the matter, agreeable to the petition of the Board of Selectmen.

To see if the Town will vote to appropriate the sum of $1,000.00 to pay bills incurred and for which an emergency was declared because of damage to the Armitage School, Essex Street, Saugus, caused by the storm of June 8, 1946, said sum to be transferred from any un- expended balances or available funds, or both; to the Schoolhouse Re- pairs Account, or to see what action the Town will take in the matter, agreeable to the petition of the School Committee.


ART. 9. To see if the Town will vote to appropriate the sum of $1,577.00 to complete the cost of the installation of the new boiler and oil burner at the Roby School, Main Street, Saugus, said sum to be trans- ferred from any unexpended balances or available funds, or both; to the account titled "New Heating System-Roby School," or to see what action the Town will take in the matter, agreeable to the petition of the School Committee.


ART. 10. To see if the Town will vote to request the Board of Select- men to cause the following question to be placed upon the ballot at the next Town Meeting: "Shall the Board of Selectmen in behalf of the Town of Saugus, make application to the Legislature for a City Form of Gov- ernment for said Town?" or to see what action the Town will take in the matter, agreeable to the petition of the Finance Committee.

Voted: To authorize the Board of Selectmen to sell at public sale for a sum not less than $1,250.00 a parcel of land on Lincoln Avenue in East Saugus formerly used as the site of the former East Saugus hose house and American Legion building, known as Lot A15 on Assessors' Plan 3012. Yeas 116, Nays 2. 8:30 P.M.


ART. 3. Voted: That the Board of Selectmen be and hereby is authorized and instructed to acquire as a gift the necessary interests in the following parcels of land, all of which are shown on plan by Weston and Sampson #14/101, on file with the Town Engineer:


Parcel #1. A strip of land forty feet wide running South- westerly from Hobson Street 332 feet more or less to the land of proposed location of stand pipe, all as shown on said plan.


Parcel #2. A rectangular parcel of land abutting the South- westerly end of the above-described parcel and containing 33,750 square feet, more or less, all as shown on said plan.


Parcel #3. A strip of land fifteen feet wide running North- easterly from Walnut Street 400 feet, more or less to land of proposed location of stand pipe, all as shown on said plan. Yeas 124, Nays 0. 8:35 P.M.

Voted: That the sum of $1,000.00 be and the same is hereby appropriated for the School Repair Account, the same to be in addition to any amounts previously appropriated, said sum to be transferred to said account from unexpended funds appropriated under Article 36 of the 1946 Annual Town Meeting Warrant.
