That for the purpose of defraying the cost of the Hadley School, there be issued coupon bonds of the Town to the amount of sixty-nine hundred dollars ($6,900), to be dated during the current year, and six of the bonds to be of the denomination of one thousand dollars ($1,000), each numbered I to 6, and one bond of nine hundred dollars ($900) numbered 7, payable in gold coin of the United States, or its equivalent, bearing interest at the rate of four per centum per annum, payable semi-annually ; that the bond numbered I be payable one year from its date, and bonds numbered 2 to 7 one each year thereafter in their numer- ical order each subsequent year for the period of six years there- after. The principal and interest of said bonds shall be payable at the First National Bank, Boston, Massachusetts. Said bonds shall be signed by the Treasurer of the Town and countersigned by the Board of Selectmen and shall be authenticated by the First National Bank of Boston and shall bear the seal of the Town, and each of the said bonds shall bear on its face the words : "Town of Swampscott Schoolhouse Loan, 1912." Said bonds shall be sold under the direction of the Town Treasurer and the Board of Selectmen, but said bonds shall not be sold at less than par and interest. (Unanimous.)
Voted, Article 46, that the following be fixed as the particu- lars of the bonds to be issued by the Town under the vote taken at this meeting under Article 36 appropriating fifty-one-hundred dollars ($5,100) for the furnishings of the Hadley School.

The meeting was called to order at 7.50 o'clock by the Moderator, Daniel F. Knowlton.
A portion of the records of the last meeting were read by the Clerk and it was voted to waive the reading of that portion of the records pertaining to Bonds, Article 46.
The records were then declared approved.
Voted, to take from the table that portion of the report of the Ways and Means Committee in regard to appropriations for Water Extention.
The portion of the report under consideration was read, as was also a supplementary report on the same subject by Elgar H. Townsend, Chairman of the Committee.
Voted, to accept both reports of the Committee on the subject of Appropriations for Water Extension, and to indefinitely post- pone action on that part of their report on this subject printed on pages 21 and 22 of their report.
Voted, to adopt the supplementary report of the Committee on appropriations for water extension.
Voted, to appropriate the sum of six hundred and twenty-five dollars ($625) for the construction of a six-inch water main on Greenwood avenue from King street to Humphrey street.
Voted, to indefinitely postpone the matter of constructing the extension of the water main through the Phillips land.
Voted, to appropriate the sum of sixty-four hundred dollars ($6,400) for the purpose of laying a ten-inch water main on Orient street from the Ocean House to Humphrey square.
Voted, to appropriate the sum of one thousand dollars ($1,000) for the extension of the water system.
Voted, that the following be fixed as the particulars of the bonds to be issued by the Town, under the votes taken at this meeting under Article 19, appropriating eight thousand dollars ($8,000) for watermain construction.
That for the purpose of paying the necessary expenses and liabilities incurred under Chapter 293 of the Acts of 1898 and Acts in amendment thereof and in addition thereto, there be issued bonds of the Town in the sum of eight thousand dol . lars ($8,000) dated during the current year ; that there shall be

sixteen (16) bonds of five hundred dollars ($500) each, num- bered respectively 1 to 16. Bond number I shall mature one year from the date thereof, and one bond shall mature each suc- ceeding year in its numerical order.
Said bonds shall bear on their face the words : " Swampscott Additional Water Loan Act, 1912," and shall bear interest pay- able semi-annually at the rate of 4% per annum; they shall be signed by the Treasurer of the Town and countersigned by the Water Commissioners, now Water and Sewerage Board; shall be authenticated by the First National Bank of Boston, Massa- chusetts. The principal and interest shall be payable at the First National Bank of Boston.
All other particulars as to form, issuance and sale of said bonds shall be determined by the Town Treasurer and Water Commissioners, now Water and Sewerage Board. Said bonds shall not be sold or pledged for less than par value thereof, and the proceeds thereof shall be retained in the treasury, and the Treasurer shall pay therefrom the expenses incurred for the purposes aforesaid. (Unanimous. )
Bonds. [Article 46.]
Voted, Article 46, that for the purpose of paying the neces- sary expenses and liabilities incurred under Chapter 86, of the Acts of 1902, and Chapter 401, of the Acts of 1903, and any acts in amendment thereof and in addition thereto, there be issued bonds of the Town to the amount of eight thousand dollars ($8,000) ; that there be 32 bonds of two hundred and fifty dol- lars ($250) each. numbered respectively I to 32 ; bond number I shall mature one year from the date thereof, and one bond shall mature each succeeding year. Said bonds shall bear on their face the words : "Swampscott Sewerage Loan," and shall bear interest, payable semi-annually, at the rate of 4% per annum. They shall be signed by the Town Treasurer, shall be counter- signed by a majority of the Sewer Commissioners, now Water and Sewerage Board, shall be authenticated by the First National Bank of Boston, Massachusetts ; shall be subject to registration at the holder's option on presentation to the Town Treasurer for cancellation of coupons and for appropriate endorsement. The principal and interest shall be payable at the First National Bank of Boston. All other particulars as to form, issuance and sale of said bonds shall be determined by the Town Treasurer and Sewer Commissioners, now Water and Sewerage Board; said

The Moderator appointed as a Committee on Brooks, Edward S. Underwood, Aaron R. Bunting and Milton D. Porter, who declined to serve. James F. Caton, Loring Grimes and H. Ashley Bowen were appointed to fill vacancy.
A motion that a vote of thanks be extended to the Ways and Means Committee was amended to indefinitely postpone. The amendment was lost and previous motion carried.

Petition having been presented to the Town Clerk, asking for a recount of ballots cast for Republican Delegates at Large at the Primaries held April 30, 1912, the Board of Registrars met in the Town Hall at 7 P. M., on Monday, May 6, 1912, the result was the same as had been previously declared. Additional information, however, was obtained to the effect that forty (40) ballots had been counted as blanks on account of voters marking for nine delegates instead of eight in Groups 2 and 3.
