To see if the town will vote that Chapter XII relative to the zoning by-law of the Building By-Laws of the Town of Swamp- scott in Article II relative to General Residence Districts and Article III relative to Single Residence Districts be amended so that said Article II shall read as follows:

To see what action the town will take in relation to constructing an addition to, or extension of, the present Town Hall and authorize the Board of Selectmen to supervise and be in charge of same in behalf of the town, and appropriate money therefor or take any action relative thereto. Article 76. To see if the town will vote to rescind the vote passed under Article 40 of the Warrant for the Annual Town Meet- ing of February 28, 1939, relating to an exchange of land between the town and the Universalist Church Society of Boston, Mass. Sponsored by the Board of Selectmen.


Article 77. To see if the town will vote to exchange certain land adjacent to the Public Library on Burrill Street in the Town of Swampscott, for land now owned by the Swampscott Universalist Society, of said Swampscott, and adjacent to the church property now occupied by the Public Library, in accordance with a plan drawn by W. W. Pratt, Town Engineer, entitled "Plan of exchange of land between the Town of Swampscott and the Swampscott Universalist Society," dated February, 1940; said exchange is to be made with- out expense to either party and is made for the purpose of straight- ening the line between the said property; and to authorize the Board of Selectmen to execute and deliver a proper deed conveying legal title to the said land; or take any action relative thereto. Article 78. To see if the town will vote to accept the laying out of a footway in Foster Road, so-called, as made by the Board of Selectmen and as shown on a plan drawn by W. W. Pratt, Town Engineer, and construct the same and appropriate money therefor or take any action relative thereto. Sponsored by the School Committee and the Board of Selectmen.


Article 79. To appropriate and raise by borrowing or otherwise, under any general or special law which authorizes the town to raise money by borrowing or otherwise, such sum or sums of money as may be necessary for any or all of the purposes mentioned in the foregoing articles.


The polls will close at 7 P.M.


And you are directed to serve this warrant by posting an attested copy thereof at the Town Hall. the Post Office, and at least two public and conspicuous places in each precinct in the town, and at or in the immediate vicinity of each railroad station in the town not less than seven days before the day appointed for said meeting.


Hereof fail not, and make due return of this warrant, with your doings thereon, to the Town Clerk at the time and place of meeting aforesaid.

Pursuant to the within warrant to me directed, I have notified the legal voters of Swampscott, by posting attested copies of said warrant at the Town Hall, Post Offices at least two public and con- spicuous places in each precinct in the town, and at or in the imme- diate vicinity of each railroad station in Swampscott on Saturday, February 10, 1940, the posting of said notices being seven days before the time of said meeting.
