SPECIAL TOWN MEETING.
COMMONWEALTH OF MASSACHUSETTS.
NORFOLK, SS. To either of the Constables of the Town of Wey- mouth in said County. GREETING :
In the name of the Commonwealth, you are hereby required to notify and warn the inhabitants of Weymouth, aforesaid, qualified to vote in elections, to meet at the Town House in said town on Friday, the 12th day of Oct. inst., at two o'clock in the afternoon, then and there, on the petition of John E. Inkley and ten others, to act upon articles numbered from one to five inclusive, viz :
ARTICLE 1. To choose a moderator.
ART. 2. To see if the town will vote to raise and appropriate the , sum of $25,000, or any part thereof, for the purpose of working the widening and extension of any roads, streets or highways which have been laid out and accepted by the town or county commis- sioners, and for the repair of such roads or streets as the meeting may determine.
ART. 3. To see if the town will appoint a committee of seven men to confer with the Selectmen in regard to the method of doing the work.
ART. 4. To see if the town will vote to pay laborers $2.00 per day for nine hours' work, and that no one but residents of the town be employed.
ART. 5. To see if the town will vote to commence work im- mediately.
Also to act upon the following articles, viz. :
ART. 6. To see if the town will vote to accept the provisions of Chapter 132 of the Acts of the Legislature of 1894, entitled " An act relative to Precinct Voting in towns at annual elections."
ART. 7. To see if the town will vote to authorize the Select- men to contract with the Massachusetts Highway Commission, for the construction of so much of any State highway, as lies

within its limits, and will authorize its treasurer to borrow, from time to time, such sums of money as may be needed to carry out such contract.
ART. 8. To see if the town will vote to extend the limit of time within which taxes may be paid without interest.
And you are directed to serve this warrant by posting attested copies thereof, in three public places in each ward in said town, seven days at least before the time of holding said meeting.
Hereof fail not and make due return of this warrant with your doings thereon to the Town Clerk, at or before the time of said meeting.

SPECIAL TOWN MEETING.
Pursuant to the foregoing warrant a legal meeting of the inhabi- tants of the town of Weymouth, was held at the town hall in said town, on Friday, October 12th, 1894, the meeting being called to order and the warrant read by the town clerk.
ARTICLE 1. Louis A. Cook. Esq., was elected Moderator, by ballot the Voting List being used in said election.
ART. 2. Voted, To lay this article on the table.
Voted, To take up article 6.
ART. 6. Voted, To accept and adopt the provisions of Chapter 132 of the Acts of the Legislature of 1894, entitled " An Act relative to Precinct Voting in towns at annual elections."
Voted, To take up article 8.
ART. 8. Voted, To extend the limit of time within which taxes may be paid with interest to Oct. 20th inst.

ART. 7. The Moderator appointed F. A. Bicknell and James Moore as tellers and he administered the oath to them.

Voted, That the Selectmen of this town are hereby authorized to contract in behalf of this town, with the Massachu- setts Highway Commission for the construction of so much of Bridge street in this town, as shall be made a State Highway by said Commission within one year, upon any terms and conditions of payment for such construction which shall be deemed reason- · able and proper by said Selectmen, provided that it can be done without expense to the town, and provided also that if it cannot

be done without expense to the town, the State Highway Commis- sion be requested to put off the work until Spring.
Voted, To lay the second part of the article in regard to raising money for the same on the table.
Voted, That when this meeting adjourns it be to the Town Hall on Tuesday evening next at 7.30 o'clock.

An adjourned meeting of the legal voters of the town of Wey- mouth was held at the Town Hall on Tuesday evening, Oct, 16th, 1894, the meeting being called to order at 7.30 o'clock by Louis A. Cook, Esq., Moderator.
Voted, To take up article 2.
ART. 2. The Moderator appointed E. B. Nevin, as teller and administered the oath to him.
Several motions were made under this article, but were not carried, one hundred voters not voting in the affirmative.

Voted, To reconsider the vote passed under this article October 12th inst.

ADJOURNED TOWN MEETING.
An adjourned meeting of the legal voters of the town of Wey- mouth was held in the Engine Hall in Ward 2 in said town on Saturday, Oct. 20th, 1894, the meeting being called to order by the Moderator, Louis A. Cook, Esq., at 7:30 o'clock r. M.
Voted, To take up article 7.
Voted, That the Selectmen of this town are hereby authorized to contract, in behalf of the town, with the Massachusetts High- way Commission, for the construction of so much of Bridge street in this town, as shall be made a "state highway" by said Com- mission within one year, upon any terms and condition of pay- ment for such construction which shall be deemed proper and reasonable by said Selectmen, and that the town treasurer be authorized and empowered to borrow on behalf and in the name of the town, upon its promissory notes, from time to time, with the approval of the Selectmen, such sums of money, not exceed- ing six thousand dollars in all, as may be required to enable the Selectmen to perform any contract which shall have been made by them under the foregoing authority ; and that such loans shall be made payable at periods not exceeding one year from the respect- ive dates of such notes.
The result of the above vote being yes 101, no 0.

The undersigned, Town Clerk of Weymouth, met the City Clerk of Quincy, at Quincy, at twelve o'clock at noon, Friday, Nov. 16 .. 1894, the time and place appointed for the Clerks of the Fifth Norfolk District to meet to examine the returns of votes cast in said district for Representatives to General Court, and found that James II. Flint and George L. Wentworth, both of Weymouth. and Charles L. Hammond of Quincy, having received the largest number of votes, were duly elected, and so certified according to law.
