CLASS SONG.
[Written by MARGARET I. MCENROE.]
Dear classmates as we stand tonight, We ne'er will stand again ; O'er this last hour of school-life bright, Bound by affection's chain. We've met together many days, On many a happy morn; But each has passed, Ah! classmates dear ! They all, yes all, are gone.
Though higher schools we may attend, To gather wisdom's flowers ; We'll hold no memory half so dear, As that of bygone hours. Those hours that were as happy dreams, Which never more will come ; Until life's ship has reached the shore, And anchored nearer home.
