In that way fewer people would neglect their taxes, and at the same time the town would be deriving some income to take care of their borrowed money.


Under the present system it costs the town (in addition to collecting) the per cent. given in discounts, plus the interest on uncollected taxes, on account of which we have to borrow mon- ey or about $3,500 annually.
