Meeting called to order at 7.40 o'clock by Moderator Eaton who read call for meeting.
On Motion of F. H. Emerson.
Voted: That further reading of the warrant with the exception of the Constable's Return be dispensed with.

Article 1. To act upon the reports of town officers as published. On Motion of S. T. Parker.
Voted: That the reports of town officers as published be accepted and laid upon the table.
Article 2. To choose all town officers not required to be chosen by ballot.
On Motion of S. T. Parker.
Voted: That a committee of five be appointed by the Moderator to bring in a list of town officers not required to be chosen by ballot and report at an adjournment of this meeting.

Article 3. To see if the town will authorize the Treasurer, with the approval of the Selectmen, to borrow money from time to time in anticipation of the revenue of the financial year, beginning January 1st, 1916, and to issue a note or notes therefor, payable within one year, any debt or debts incurred under this vote to be paid from the revenue of said financial year.

Voted: That the Town Treasurer, with the approval of the Selectmen be and hereby is authorized to borrow money from time to time in anticipation of the revenue of the financial year beginning January 1, 1916, and to issue a note or notes therefor, payable within one year, any debt or debts incurred under this vote to be paid from the revenue of said financial year.
Article 4. To determine how much money the town will raise and appropriate for General Government, Protection of Persons and Property, Health and Sanitation, Highways, Charities and Soldiers' Benefits, Education, Recreation and Unclassified Public Service Enterprises, Interest and Maturing Debt.

Article 7. To see if the town will raise and appropriate the sum uf $2,000 to be spent in rebuilding Lowell Street, as ordered by the County Commissioners, provided, that only an amount equal to the total amount contributed for said purpose by the State, shall be ex- pended from said $2,000 .- Board of Selectmen.

Voted: That the town raise and appropriate the sum of $2,000 to be spent in rebuilding Lowell Street as ordered by the County Commissioners, provided, that only an amount equal to the total amount contributed for said purpose by the State shall be expended from the said $2,000.
Article 8. To see if the town will authorize the Selectmen to expend the sum of $4,000 in the permanent rebuilding of Lowell Street, or what they will do about it .- Board of Selectmen.

Article 9. Article 10. To see if the town will raise and appropriate a sufficient sum of money, estimated at $269.50, to pay awards of County Commissioners in decree of Dec. 8th, 1896, for damages from widening and relocating of Oak Street .- Board of Selectmen.

Article 11. To see if the town will raise and appropriate $100 to pay award of that amount for land damages to Viola Slocumb, occasioned by the laying out of a new way between Salem and Lowell Streets, and being the amount awarded by the County Com- missioners. Board of Selectmen.

Article 13. To see if the town will transfer control of the lot of land on the northerly side of Nahant Street, containing a gravel pit, from the Overseers of the Poor to the Board of Selectmen .-- Board of Selectmen.

Voted: That the town transfer control of the lot of land on the northerly side of Nahant Street, containing a gravel pit, from the Overseers of the Poor to the Board of Selectmen.
Article 14. To see if the town will authorize the Board of Selectmen to employ counsel for the defence of James J. Pollard and Fred J. Black in any action now pending or which may be brought in the nature of tort, for false arrest brought by George H. Cheever, and raise and appropriate a sufficient sum of money there- for .- Board of Selectmen.

That the town authorize the Board of Selectmen to employ the Town Counsel to defend Chief of Police James J. Pollard and Patrol- man Fred J. Black, in suits brought by George H. Cheever for false arrest.

To see if the town will vote to purchase, or erect, and equip a two-room portable school building to be used in con- nection with the Lincoln School, and raise and appropriate money therefor, and issue notes or bonds of the town for the purposes of this article, or see what the town will do about it .- Arthur H. Voted: That the compensation for enginemen be the same as last year, namely :
$100 each for Engine No. 1, Ladder No. 1, Volunteers No. 2. $ 75 each for Greenwood Hose No. 3, and Montrose Hose No. 4.
Article 18. To see if the town will vote to make the pay of the permanent men of the Fire Department $21 per week .- W. P. Oliver and others.

That the Water and Sewerage Board be authorized to con- struct the sewer as asked for in Article 31 and appropriate the sum of $1950 therefor.

That the sewer as provided for in motion offered be stopped at No. 620 Main Street.
A Motion by E. M. Grover to indefinitely postpone was lost.
The Moderator then ruled that the motions should be acted on separately, the meeting to first vote on the amendment offered by Mr. Round and that the passage of the amendment would not prevent the voting on and the passage of the original motion. The meeting then voted in the affirmative the amendment offered by Mr. Round. The meeting then voted in the affirmative the original motion as offered by Mr. Taylor.
On Motion of G. E. Walker.
Voted: That the town reconsider that part of the vote appro- priating the sum of $1950 for the sewer construction.
Voted: That the town appropriate the sum of $1979.44, of this amount the sum of $1179.44 be transferred by the Town Accountant from Park Avenue Sewer account, leaving the sum of $800 to be provided for.

The Moderator made the same ruling as under the previous vote.
