ARTICLE 33
To see if the Town will vote to return to the Town Treasurer, a sum not exceeding $35,000, being part of the balance of the Operating Fund of the Municipal Light Department as of December 31, 1942, and to author- ize the Assessors to use the same in computing the tax rate for 1943; and also to see if the Town will authorize the Municipal Light Depart- ment to transfer the remainder of the balance of its Operating Fund as of December 31, 1942, to a Reserve Fund to be used for construction purposes and for purchasing equipment, materials and supplies and for labor and for such other requirements as may be needed for the defense and protection of the property under the control of the Municipal Light Department .- Municipal Light Board.
On motion by Finance Committee :
Voted: That the sum of $35,000, being part of the balance of the Oper- , ating Fund of the Municipal Light Department as of December 31, 1942, be returned to the Town Treasury and the Assessors be hereby author- ized to use the same in computing the tax rate for 1943 and authorize the Municipal Light Department to transfer from its Operating Fund $7,755.94 to a Reserve Fund to be used for Construction purposes and for purchasing equipment, materials and supplies and for labor and for such other requirements as may be needed for the defense and protection of the property under the control of the Municipal Light Department, this latter sum being the remainder of the balance in its Operating Fund as of December 31, 1942.

Acting under the provisions of Chapter 708, Section 11 of the Acts of 1941, the following officials met in the Selectmen's room at 8.15 P. M. on Tuesday, March 30, 1943:
Orrin J. Hale, William R. Lindsay, L. Wallace Sweetser, William G. Dill, and Ernest L. Brown, constituting the Board of Selectmen.

The meeting was called to order by Chairman Orrin J. Hale of the Board of Selectmen.
John I. Preston nominated Dr. Charles E. Montague for Acting Officer to serve on the Board of Health during the absence of Dr. Robert Dutton, who is serving in the U. S. Army.
The nomination was seconded by William G. Dill.
It was then voted that the nominations be closed.
Result of the Vote: A call of the ayes and nays resulted in a unani- mous vote for Dr. Charles E. Montague, and he was declared elected. Meeting dissolved at 8.22 P. M.

ARTICLE 1
To see if the Town will authorize the Park and Cemetery Commis- sioners to purchase or construct a new life boat at a cost not to exceed $350, payment for same to be made from the appropriation of the Park Department for Other Expenses .- Park and Cemetery Commissioners.
On motion by Frederick W. Bliss for the Finance Committee:
Voted: That the Town authorize the Park and Cemetery Commis- sioners to purchase or construct a new life boat at a cost not to exceed $150, payment for same to be made from the appropriation for the Park Department for Other Expenses.

To hear and act upon a report of the Board of Selectmen laying out a town way under the Betterment Act in substantially the same location of the private way known as Atwood Street, running southerly from Oak Street approximately 800 feet, and appropriate money for the construction thereof through transfer from the unexpended balance of the appropri- ation for Chapter 90 Highway Maintenance under Article 12 of the An- nual Town Meeting Warrant for 1942, and/or from the unexpended balance of the appropriation for the Police Department for pensions for the year 1943 .- Board of Selectmen.
The Moderator read the report of the Selectmen on the laying out of the Town way known as Atwood Street, and announced that the plan and profile of the way might be inspected by any voter who desired to.
