Voted : To raise and appropriate the sum of two hun- dred and fifty dollars for the observance of Memorial Day.

Art. 6. To see if the town will vote to authorize the town treasurer with the approval of the selectmen, to bor- row money from time to time in anticipation of the revenue . of the financial year beginning January 1, 1944, and to issue a note or notes therefor, payable within one year, and to renew any note or notes as may be given for a period of less than one year in accordance with Section 17, Chapter 44, General Laws.


Voted unanimously: That the town treasurer, with the approval of the selectmen, be and is hereby authorized to borrow money from time to time in anticipation of the revenue of the financial year beginning January 1, 1944, and to issue a note or notes therefor, payable within one year, and to renew any note or notes as may be given for a period of less than one year in accordance with Section 17, Chapter 44, General Laws.


Art. 7. To see if the town will vote to raise and appropriate the sum of $200.00 for the use of the Treasurer, to pay the expenses of the local Dog Officer. The town will be reimbursed for the amount spent, by the County of Mid- dlesex, or act anything thereon.

ABSTRACT OF THE PROCEEDINGS OF THE SPECIAL TOWN MEETING HELD SEPTEMBER 11, 1944


Art. 1. To see if the town will vote to transfer from the Surplus Revenue Account an amount not exceeding $6000 for the purchase of land and buildings offered for sale by the Acton Agricultural Holding Company or act any- thing thereon.


Voted: To transfer from the Surplus Revenue Ac- count an amount not exceeding six thousand (6000) dollars for the purchase of land and buildings offered for sale by the Acton Agricultural Holding Company.

Amendment: To substitute the name "Roberts Field" instead of "Goward Field," in memory of the three Roberts who were the first three casualties from the Town of Acton in this war.
