ARTICLE 1. To choose a Moderator to preside at said meeting.
George Washburn was chosen Moderator, by ballot.
ART. 2. To choose the following named town officers, under the provisions of the Revised Statutes of 1907, namely : one Town Clerk, one Moderator, one Treasurer, one Collector of Taxes, three Selectmen, five Constables, one Trée Warden, one Auditor, all for one year; one School Committee for three years, two Trustees of the Public Library for three years ; one Trustee of the Public Library for one year to fill vacancy, one Cemetery Commissioner for three years, one Assessor for three years, one Assessor for two years to fill vacancy, one member of the Board of Health for three years.
Also to vote on the following question : Shall license be granted to sell intoxicating liquors in the town for the ensuing year? the vote to be "Yes" or "No." All the above to be voted for on one ballot. The polls to be opened at half-past six o'clock in the forenoon and may close at two o'clock in the afternoon.
The ballot-box was examined and found in good order. The following-named persons, having been appointed by the Selectmen, were sworn and apportioned as follows :-
Isaac B. Codding and Frank J. Bell to distribute ballots.
Wm. E. Bell and Richard C. Lincoln to check names at ballot-box.
Edward H. Abell and Joseph M. Johnson to count votes.
John M. Richardson and Alex. Allan to supervise.
The polls were opened at half-past six o'clock in the fore- noon and were closed by vote of the town at half-past two

o'clock in the afternoon. The total vote cast was 287. The votes were counted in open town meeting, and the following- named officers were declared elected :-

In accordance with the usual custom the meeting was then adjourned to Monday evening, March 10, at 7.30 o'clock.

It was voted that $200.00 of the amount appropriated for Tree Warden be used for setting out new trees.
ART. 6. To see if the town will authorize the Treasurer, with the approval of the Selectmen, to borrow money from time to time in anticipation of the taxes of the present municipal year to an amount not exceeding in the aggregate ten thousand dollars, and to issue a note or notes therefor payable within one year, any debt or debts incurred under this vote to be paid from the taxes of the present municipal year.
Voted, That the Town Treasurer, with the approval of the Selectmen, be and hereby is authorized to borrow money from time to time in anticipation of the taxes of the municipal year beginning Feb. 1, 1913, to an amount not exceeding in the aggregate Ten Thousand Dollars, and to issue a note or notes therefor payable within one year, any debt or debts incurred under this vote to be paid from the taxes of said municipal year.
ART. 7. To determine in what manner the taxes shall be collected for the ensuing year, also determine what percentage shall be allowed the Collector for the ensuing year.
ART. 8. To see if the town will authorize the Collector to use all such means in the collection of taxes as the Treasurer might if elected to that office.
It was voted that Article 7 and Article 8 be acted upon together and it was then voted, "The Collector shall receive one and one-quarter per cent. on all taxes collected by him and he shall pay in to the Treasurer all taxes committed to him for collection, unless abated by the Assessors, on or before the 31st day of January, 1914. Interest at the rate of 6 per cent. per annum shall be charged on all taxes re- maining unpaid after Nov. 1, 1913, and after Dec. 1, 1913, the Collector shall forthwith collect all taxes remaining un- paid and for that purpose may use all such means prescribed by law as the Treasurer might if elected to that office."
ART. 9. To see what compensation the town will allow the Fire Depart- ment for the ensuing year, or do or act anything thereto.
Voted, That the members of the Fire Department be paid the sum of twelve dollars per year and poll tax, and that they be paid fifty cents per hour while at work at fires.

ART. 10. To see how much per hour the town will allow for work on the highways for the year ensuing, or do or act anything relating thereto.
Voted, That it be left to the discretion of the Superintend- ent of Streets.
ART. 11. To see if the town will accept as a perpetual trust the sum of One Hundred Dollars, the interest thereof to be used for the care of the "Caleb Ellis lot". in Vine Lake Cemetery.
Voted, That the trust be accepted.
ART. 12. To see if the town will accept as a perpetual trust the sum of One Hundred Dollars, the interest thereof to be used for the care of the "Sabin Smith lot" in Vine Lake Cemetery.
Voted, That the trust be accepted.
ART. 13. To see if the town will accept, as a perpetual trust, the sum of One Hundred Dollars the interest thereof to be used for the care of the "William S. Tilden lot" in Vine Lake Cemetery.
Voted, That the trust be accepted and in accordance with the request of the donors the amount was raised to Two Hun- dred Dollars.
ART. 14. To see if the town will vote not to receive the series of public documents now supplied by the Secretary of the Commonwealth.
The following action was taken "In consideration of the lack of room for proper storage of the series of public docu- ments, it is voted that the Secretary of the Commonwealth be requested to discontinue sending said documents to the Town of Medfield as provided in Chap. 422 of the Acts of 1908.
ART. 15. To see if the town will instruct the Selectmen to take such action as shall be necessary or proper to revoke and release all restrictions con- tained in the location or franchise under which the Dedham & Franklin Street Railway is operated in this town relative to the rate or rates of fare to be charged thereon or will pass any other votes or take any other proceed- ings in connection with the same.
Voted, That the Selectmen be and they are hereby in- structed to take such action as in their judgment shall be necessary to revoke and release all restrictions contained in the location or franchise under which the Dedham & Frank-

lin Street Railway is operated in this town relative to the rate or rates of fare to be charged thereon and that said restrictions are hereby revoked and released in so far as a vote of this town is necessary to revoke and release the same.
ART. 16. To see if the town will vote to place an incandescent light on the corner of the town lot in rear of Chenery Hall, grant and appropriate money therefor or do or act anything relating thereto. (Petition.)
Voted, That a light be placed on the corner of the town lot if the appropriation for street lights is sufficient to cover the expense of said light.
ART. 17. To see if the town will vote to install electric lights on Philip Street, Foundry Street and Mt. Nebo Street, grant and appropriate money therefor or do or act anything relating thereto. (Petition.)
Voted, To dismiss the article.
ART. 18. To see if the town will grant and appropriate the sum of Three Hundred Dollars for the purpose of improving the grade of Mt. Nebo Street.
Voted, To dismiss the article.
ART. 19. To hear and act on the reports of any committees appointed at previous meetings.
Voted, That the Committee on Valuation appointed at the Annual Meeting in March, 1912, be re-appointed and that the sum of One Hundred Dollars be granted and appropriated for necessary clerical services.
ART. 20. To see what disposition the town will make of the money re- ceived for the sale of personal property from the town farm.
Voted, That the money received from the sale of personal property from the Town Farm be invested in a fund to re- place the School Fund now loaned to the town.
All the articles having been acted upon the meeting was dissolved.

In compliance with a vote of the inhabitants of the Town of Medfield, at the Annual Meeting held in said town on the 3rd day of March, 1913.
Now, therefore, we the undersigned, Selectmen of the Town of Medfield, by virtue of the authority vested in us, do hereby revoke and release all restrictions contained in the location or franchise under which the Dedham & Franklin Street Railway is operated in this town relative to the rate of fares to be charged thereon.

REPORT OF FIRE ENGINEERS FOR 1913.
Mar. 19th, call for brush fire in Rocky Woods.
Mar. 22nd, brush and grass fire around Town Farm. Mar. 30th, fire at Macomber's Asylum Road.
April 10, fire in Chamberlain house.
May 20, brush fire near Dr. Inches' estate. July 10, fire in estate of Miss Helen Brown. Oct. 20, call for burning coal at railroad coal shed.
Jan. 30th, call for assistance from Dover.
Both companies have full complement of men and the fire apparatus is in good condition.
We need 1,000 feet of hose.
