WARRANT FOR TOWN MEETING
APRIL 6, 1891.
WORCESTER, SS.
To either of the Constables of the Town of Southbridge, in the County of Worcester, GREETING :
In the name of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts you are hereby directed to notify the inhabitants of the town of Southbridge, aforesaid, qualified to vote in elections and town affairs, to meet in the Town Hall in said Southbridge, on Mon- dlay, the sixth day of April next, at nine of the clock in the forenoon, then and there to act on the following articles :
ARTICLE 1. To choose a Moderator to preside at said meeting.
ART. 2. To choose all necessary town officers for the en- suing year, viz .: Clerk, Treasurer, Selectmen, Overseers of the Poor, Board of Health, Assessors, School Committee, Auditors of Accounts, Cemetery Committee, Library Committee, a Sink- ing Fund Commissioner and Constables.
ART. 3. To vote by ballot " Yes or No" in answer to the question, "Shall license be granted for the sale of intoxicating liquors in this town."
ART. 4. To hear the report of the Auditors of Accounts, Treasurer, Clerk, Selectmen, Library Committee, Board of Health and Cemetery Committee, and act thereon.
ART. 5. To raise and appropriate such sums of money as may be necessary to pay town debts and charges the ensuing year, or act thereon.
ART. 6. To see if the town will allow a discount on taxes paid within a certain period, or act thereon.

ART. 7. To see if the town will authorize the Treasurer to borrow money in anticipation of taxes, or act thereon.
ART. 8. To see if the town will accept the list of jurors as posted and presented by the Selectmen, or act thereon.
ART. 9. To see if the town will vote to pay the engine men for the ensuing year, or act thereon.
ART. 10. To see if the town will raise and appropriate money for the observance of Memorial Day, or act thereon.
ART. 11. To see if the town will raise and appropriate money to pay the Water Supply Company for the use of hydrants and drinking fountains for the ensuing year, or act thereon.
ART. 12. To see if the town will vote to fix the compen- sation of town officers, laborers and teams for the ensuing year, or act thereon.
ART. 13. To see if the town will raise and appropriate money for the support of the militia, or act thereon.
ART. 14. To see if the town will vote to build a gravel sidewalk on the west side of Water street, from South to School street, raise and appropriate money therefor, or act anything regarding the same.
ART. 15. To see if the town will vote to build a gravel sidewalk on the west side of Marcy street extension, raise and appropriate money therefor, or act thereon.
ART. 16. To see if the town will vote to complete the sidewalk on the west side of Hamilton street from Marcy street : to land of Thomas O'Hara, raise and appropriate money therefor, or act anything regarding the same.
ART. 17. To see if the town will vote to build a gravel sidewalk on the south side of South street from land of A. J. Bartholomew to land of H. N. Horton, raise and appropriate money therefor, or act anything thereon.

ART. 19. To see if the town will vote to build a concrete walk on the westerly side of Pleasant street from land of John O. Mckinstry heirs to Main street, raise and appropriate money therefor, or act anything regarding the same.
ART. 20. To see if the town will vote to build a sidewalk on Edwards street from Marcy street to land of Rev. James Donohoe, and from land of James D. Green to Hamilton street, raise and appropriate money therefor, or act anything regarding the same.
ART. 21. To see if the town will vote to build a crossing on Hamilton street, near Goddu Block, also one on Cross street at the corner of Hamilton, raise and appropriate money therefor, or act thereon.
ART. 22. To see if the town will vote to establish an arc electric light on the corner of Hamilton and Cross streets, raise and appropriate money therefor, or act thereon.
ART. 23. To see if the town will appropriate money to widen, straighten and repair Main street between its junction with South street and Cross street, or act anything regarding the same.
ART. 24. To see if the town will appropriate money to repair High street extension, or act anything regarding the same.
ART. 25. To see if the town will prosecute violations of the law relating to the manufacture and sale of intoxicating liquors, drunkenness and common drunkards the ensuing year, raise and appropriate money therefor, or act thereon.
ART. 26, To see if the town will vote to raise and appro- priate the sum of seven hundred dollars to pay District Court fees, or act thereon.
ART. 27. To see what action the town will take in regard to better lockup accommodations, or act anything regarding the same.

ART. 28. To see what instructions, if any, the town will give the selectmen relative to the case of Thomas Doyle vs. the town.
ART. 29. To see if the town will vote to build a concrete sidewalk on the notherly side of River street from the corner of tenement house of J. & T. Ryan to River street bridge, raise and appropriate money therefor, or act anything regarding the same.
ART. 30. To see if the town will vote to change the name of Cemetery street to Coombs street, or act thereon.
And you are directed to serve this warrant by publishing an attested copy thereof twice in the Southbridge Journal and Southbridge Herald, the first publication being not less than nine days next preceding the day of the meeting,-or by post- ing up such attested copies in four conspicuous public places within the town, at least nine days, including Sundays,-before the day of holding said meeting. The polls will be open at nine o'clock a. m. and close at three o'clock p. m.
Herein fail not, and make due return of this warrant with your doings thereon to the Town Clerk at the time and place hereinbefore named.
