Voted, That the Selectmen be appointed agents of the Town, to institute and prosecute in favor of the Town, and appear and defend suits and legal proceedings against, or in- volving the interests of the Town, with power to employ coun- sel therein, and, when necessary, in all other legal matters and business appertaining to town affairs during the year com- mencing March 1, 1921.
Article 25 (Authority of Town Treasurer to borrow) taken up.
Voted unanimously, That the Town Treasurer, with the approval of the Board of Selectmen, be' and hereby is author- ized to borrow money, from time to time, in anticipation of the revenue of the financial year beginning January 1, 1921, and to issue a note or notes therefor payable within one year. Any debt or debts incurred under this vote to be paid from the revenue of said financial year.
Article 26 (Authority of Collector of Taxes) taken up.
Voted, That the Collector of Taxes be authorized to use all means of collecting taxes for the year 1921 which a Town Treasurer may use when appointed a Collector of Taxes.
Article 27 (Appointment of Finance Committee) taken up.
Voted, That the Moderator of this meeting appoint as a Finance Committee twenty-one voters, representing all sections of the Town, to serve until the annual meeting of 1922. Three members of said Committee to be nominated by the Town Meeting Members of each precinct within two weeks of this date. No elective Town Officer shall be eligible to serve on said Committee. To this Finance Committee are hereby re- ferred all articles in any Town Warrant issued during its term of office. Said Committee, shall, after due consideration of the subject matter of said articles, report thereon, in print or otherwise, to the Town Meeting, with such recommendations as it shall deem best. Said Committee shall choose its own officers and have power to fill vacancies.

Voted, That the Town accept and establish as a town way, under the provisions of Law authorizing the assessment of betterments, the private way known as Bowdoin Street, from River Street to Rawson Road, as laid out by the Joint Board of Selectmen and Board of Public Works and more particularly described in Article 33 of the Warrant. That the sum of $5,135.60 be appropriated for the original construction of said way and that said sum of $5,135.60 be raised by gen- eral tax the current year.

Voted, That the sum of $14,550.00 be appropriated for the Sinking Fund. That for this purpose $2000.00 be taken from the income of the Water Department and the balance, $12,550.00 be raised by general tax.

That for this purpose the sum of $10,900.00 be taken from receipts of the Water Department, the sum of $798.45 be taken from avail- able balances and receipts now in the Treasury, and the bal- ance $38,301.55 be raised by general tax.
Voted, That the sum of $68,000.00 be appropriated for payment of bonds and notes maturing in 1921. That for this purpose $1,486.50 be taken from funds now in Treasury avail- able for Town debt, the sum of $15,000.00 from the receipts of the Water Department, the sum of $22,000.00 be taken from available balances and receipts now in the Treasury and the balance $29,513.50 be raised by general tax.

ARTICLE I. To hear and act on the reports of Commit- tees heretofore appointed.
ART. 2. To see if the Town will rescind the vote passed December 1, 1902, relating to notices of adjournment of Town Meetings, or take any action in relation to such notices.

ART. 5. To see if the Town will make an appropriation for "Aid to Agriculture" under the provisions of Sections 40 to 45, both inclusive, of Chapter 128 of the General Laws, de- termine in what manner the money shall be raised, or take any action relating thereto.

To see if the Town will authorize the convey- ance of any and all parcels of land or parts thereof, or the abandonment of any and all easements or rights, or parts thereof, taken or acquired by the Town, in connection with ways, taxes, or assessments for the minimum amount of one dollar, to be paid for each such conveyance, or take any action relating thereto.

To see if the Town will accept the laying out by the Joint Board of Selectmen and Board of Public Works of a town way, for the use of the Town, substantially on the line of the private way known as Bowdoin Street, from River Street to Rawson Road, as shown on plan filed in the office of the Town Clerk, July 12, 1921, under the provisions of Law authorizing the assessments of betterments"; accept and estab- lish said street as a town way ; make an appropriation for the construction of said way; determine in what manner the money shall be raised ; or take any action relating thereto.
ART. 8. To see if the Town will vote to acquire land for the purposes of a public playground, or recreation centre in the Brattel Street District of the Town; make an appro- priation for the same; determine in what manner the money shall be raised; determine by whom the power conferred by Section 14 of Chapter 45 of the General Laws in connection therewith shall be exercised ; or take any action relating thereto.

To see if the Town will make an appropria- tion or appropriations for the repair of the High School build- ing and for putting said building in good order; adopt and ratify acts and agreements by, through or under the School Committee relating to said building ; determine in what man- ner the money shall be raised; or take any action relating to the foregoing.
ART. 2. To see if the Town will make an appropriation or appropriations for the public schools of the Town; deter- mine in what manner the money shall be raised; or take any action relating thereto.

Voted, That the Selectmen be and hereby are authorized and empowered in the name and on behalf of the Town, to sell, at public auction, or private sale, all or any portion or

portions of land taken or acquired in connection with Park Avenue Extension and not within the side lines of said street, or of any other existing connecting way, or of any proposed street, the location of which has been approved by the Board of Survey; to convey the same and to execute, acknowledge and deliver a proper deed or deeds for that purpose, all for the minimum amount of one dollar for each such conveyance and upon such other terms as the Selectmen shall consider proper ; and that the present and each future Board of Select- men shall have full power and authority in the name and be- half of the Town, to sell at public auction or private sale, any and all land at any time held by the Town under or by virtue of a Tax Collector's deed or a taking in connection with taxes or assessments after the title of the Town has be- come absolute ; to convey such land, and to execute, acknowl- edge and deliver proper deeds for that purpose.

Voted (unanimously), That the sum of nineteen thou- sand (19,000) dollars be appropriated for the repair of the High School Building damaged by fire and otherwise on July 18, 1921; that for this purpose, an emergency existing, the Treasurer, with the approval of the Selectmen, and subject to the approval of a Board composed of the Attorney General, the State Treasurer and the Director of Accounts in the De- partment of Corporations and Taxation, be, and hereby is, authorized to borrow said sum of nineteen thousand (19,000) dollars, and to issue bonds or notes of the Town therefor, said bonds or notes to be payable in accordance with the provisions of Section 19 of Chapter 44 of the General Laws, so that the whole loan shall be paid in not more than one year from the date of issue of the first bond or note, or at such earlier date as the Treasurer and the Selectmen may determine; that said sum be expended under the direction of the School Committee and that the agreements by, through or under the School Com- mittee relating to the repair of said building be approved to the extent of said appropriation of nineteen thousand (19,000) dollars.
