Last year the appropriation was $2,800.00 with a spe- cial storm appropriation of $2,000 to remove broken and dangerous branches. To give our trees the proper at- tention they should receive and to assist nature in repair- ing the damage done, I would recommend that the sum of $3,500.00 be appropriated.

I herewith submit my report as Inspector of Animals for the year ending December 31, 1921.
The annual Spring inspection of animals is as follows :

During the year four cases of rabies were found in this Town and the animals destroyed, their heads being sent to the Harvard Medical School for confirmment of diagnosis. Twenty-two dogs were placed under quaran- time for observation.
Several cows were placed under quarantine for tuber- culosis, and destroyed.

At the March Meeting of 1921 at the request of the Town Clerk and the Collector of Taxes, it was voted that all fees received by them be turned into the Town Treas- ury. From March 1 to December 31, the amount of fees received in this office and turned into the Treasury was $608.26. In addition to this amount about $900.00 was saved for recording births, deaths and marriages, making the total amount for fees $1508.26.
