TOWN WARRANT
The Commonwealth of Massachusetts, Middlesex, ss.
To the Constables of the Town of Arlington, in said county : Greeting:
In the name of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, you are hereby required to notify and warn the inhabitants of the Town of Arlington, qualified as the Constitution requires, to meet in their respective voting places in said Town, Precinct 1 at the Crosby School, Precinct 2 at the Hardy School,
Precincts 3 and 5 at the Old Town Hall,
Precincts 4 and 6 at the Robbins Memorial Town Hall, Precinct 7 at the Locke School,
Tuesday, the sixth Day of November
next, it being the Tuesday next after the first Monday in said month, at 6 A.M., to act on the following articles, viz: Article 1. To bring in their votes for Presidential Electors; a Governor; a Lieutenant-Governor; a Secretary; a Treasurer; an Auditor; an Attorney-General of the Commonwealth; a Senator in Congress for this Commonwealth; a Representative in Congress for the eighth Congressional District; a Councillor for the sixth Councillor District; a Senator for the sixth Sena- torial District; two Representatives in the General Court for the twenty-eighth Representative District; two County Com- missioners for Middlesex County; a Clerk of Courts of Middlesex County; an Associate County Commissioner for Middlesex County (to fill vacancy), Register of Deeds.
To vote "Yes" or "No" on the acceptance of the following "Law Proposed by Initiative Petition":

Middlesex County :
By virtue of this Warrant I have notified and warned the legal voters of the Town of Arlington to meet at the time and places and for the purposes herein named by causing a printed attested copy of the same to be left at every dwelling house in the Town, and by posting an attested copy at the doors of the Town Hall seven days at least before said day of meeting, and by posting attested copies in two or more conspicuous places in each voting precinct in the Town. A notice of the time, places and objects of the meeting was published in the local papers.

ARLINGTON TOWN REPORT
Arlington, Mass., Nov. 6, 1928.
In pursuance of the foregoing Warrant the legal voters of the Town of Arlington met in their respective voting places on Tuesday, the sixth day of November, nineteen hundred and twenty-eight, at six o'clock in the forenoon.
On account of the very much increased number of voters in each precinct, it was deemed necessary to use the auditorium in the Old Town Hall Building for Precincts 3 and 5, leaving only Precincts 4 and 6 in the Robbins Memorial Town Hall. Ac- cordingly the Selectmen directed the Town Clerk to equip the new voting place. Changes were made in the equipment in each of the seven precincts in order that adequate equipment might be provided for all.
The polling places were designated as follows: Precinct 1, Crosby Schoolhouse, Winter Street; Precinct 2, Hardy School- house, Lake Street; Precincts 3 and 5, Old Town Hall; Precincts 4 and 6, Robbins Memorial Town Hall; Precinct 7, Locke Schoolhouse, Park Avenue.

TOWN RECORDS
The ballots cast in all precincts were delivered to the Town Clerk in sealed packages, as were the unused ballots. The voting lists used at the entrances of the polling places and at the ballot boxes, with tally sheets and copy of precinct record of election, were also returned, all properly sealed in conformity with the laws governing election.

Arlington, Mass., November 9, 1928.
Pursuant to law the Town Clerk of Arlington and the Town Clerk of Lexington met in the office of the Town Clerk of Arlington on Friday, the ninth day of November, in the year of our Lord, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-eight, at 10.30 o'clock in the forenoon, for the purpose of canvassing the votes cast on the sixth day of November for two representatives to the General Court of the Commonwealth, to represent the Twenty-eighth Middlesex District.
The canvass showed the following result of the votes cast in Arlington and Lexington.
In Arlington, Elliott R. Barker had nine thousand one hundred forty-four (9144).
In Lexington, Elliott R. Barker had one thousand nine hundred seventy (1970).
In Arlington and Lexington, Elliott R. Barker had eleven thousand one hundred fourteen (11,114).
In Arlington, George E. Briggs had seven thousand six hundred forty-eight (7648).

In Lexington, George E. Briggs had two thousand seven hundred forty-three (2743).
In Arlington and Lexington, George E. Briggs had ten thousand three hundred ninety-one (10,391).
In Arlington, Augustus J. Power had six thousand three hundred twenty-five (6325).

In Lexington, Augustus J. Power had eight hundred ninety- nine (899).
In Arlington and Lexington, Augustus J. Power had seven thousand two hundred twenty-four (7224).
In Arlington, Arthur J. Hogan had one (1).
The canvass showed that Elliott R. Barker and George E. Briggs had a majority of the votes cast in both towns.
Certificates of votes cast for representatives in each town were exchanged by the Town Clerks respectively.
Certificates showing the results of the election were signed by the Town Clerks, one' of the certificates was sent to the Secretary of the Commonwealth, one was delivered to the Town Clerk of Lexington, to be delivered to Mr. George E. Briggs of Lexington, and one was delivered to Thomas O. D. Urquhart, Constable of the Town of Arlington, to be delivered to Elliott R. - Barker of Arlington.

Arlington, November 14, 1928.
A recount of the votes cast on November 6, 1928, for the office of Presidential Electors and Governor, having been duly petitioned for, was held on this date by the Board of Registrars of Voters.

TOWN RECORDS
Notices of the time of the recount had been sent to the candidates by registered mail.
Checkers, one Republican and one Democrat from each of the seven precincts, assisted in the recount.
The meeting was called to order at 2 P.M. by Eben F. Dewing, Chairman of the Board.
The Clerk read the petitions, broke the seals, and opened the boxes.
Mr. William I. Marsters, representing the Republican State Committee, was present.
Mr. Charles T. Daly and Mr. Norton, of Medford, were present, representing Mr. Cole.

ARLINGTON TOWN REPORT
At five-thirty, about one-half of the ballots having been counted, by consent of the meeting the recount was adjourned to Thursday, November 15, 1928, at one o'clock.
The ballots which had been counted were placed in the boxes, locked, sealed, and placed under police protection. The ballots which had not been counted were placed in the Town Clerk's vault.
