SHELL FISHING (SALT POND)
The cover, an original design by Mr. Harold White of North Eastham, depicts several Eastham activities which are of interest to both year round residents and summer vacation- ists.
Shellfishing, without a doubt, is fun for young and old, and low tide at Salt Pond on Sundays is the "proof of the pudding“. Eastham's many beaches also attract one and all, as they are "the best".
Turnips and cranberries are about the only farming pro- jects left in Eastham, and they offer seasonal employment to many. Commercial shellfishing is very much in evidence also. Many of the fishermen charter their boats for private parties, and these fishing trips are enjoyed by many summer visitors.
This is an entirely different type of cover than any one used on previous Town Reports, and we are grateful to Mr. White for his interpretation of Eastham's activities.
