That the Publick Ways in the Town from Mafterfs Brook to Cambridge, line be Stated and Settled as to their Courfe and wydth as the Court of General Sefsions of ye peace Agreeable to the reporte that be made by their Committee for that purpose Appointed Shall be pleafed to Ordr, And if any Lands Now Lying as Ways or reputed as Such Shall not be included in the Ways when Stated as Afored the Same Shall be to and for the Sole Ufe & benefit and at the Dispofal of the Town where in the Same Shall Ly : Provided however that if the Sale of any of the Lands aforest yt have been Difpofed of by the Towns Comtee (not in- cluded in the ways when Stated as Aforefd) Shall remain good And Valled to the Perfons who have Purchafed ye Same, Alfo yt Each Town Shall have the Benefit of the proceeds of ye Sale of Such of ye Land aforesd as Ly within ye Same.
That if the fd Ways when Stated as Aforest Shall Include any Land belonging to any Perticular Perfon the owner of Such Land Shall have Meet recompence made him by the Town wherein the Same Lyes. Whereas Sundry Unhapy Differances have Arifen in Water- town for the peaceable putting and End to the Same ; it is thot that Dividing the Town into Two Townfhips May be very Con- ducive. And in hopes of Obtaining the Valuable Blefsing of peace,
The following Vote was put. vizt Whether it is the Mind of the Precinct (the Weft Precinct in fd Town Petitioning ye General Court therefor ) that the Town of Watertown be Divided into Two Townships On the Conditions and provifions following Namely
(1) That the Dividing Line be as the Precinct Line Now is.
(2) That Watertowns part of ye Charge of ye repairs & re- building of ye Great Bridge over Charles River in fd Town be borne by Each Town in Proportion as they Shall be Set in the Province Tax.
