Captain Pulley is by LeDuc, dam by Poule by Papillion, he by Mountard, he by Vieux Co Co. He was foaled in the district of Alen- corn, department of Orne, France, April 4, 1883. He stands 16 1-4 hands high, weighs 1,700 pounds; is black in color, with fine glossy coat, has a thick curly mane, and very heavy tail; a fine clean head, which he carries very high; arching neck, deep broad chest, long quarters, and wide flat legs, with the very best of feet. He has a very square, even gait, with good action, and a graceful movement, which, added to his great strength, spirit and tractability, combine to make him a very de- sirable road horse for one of his weight. This horse, now owned by C. M. Folsom, Oakland, Maine, will remain at the stable of C. M. Her- rick, Waterville (address Oakland), where he will be allowed to serve a limited number of mares upon the following terms: Fifteen dollars in ten months if mares prove in foal. All mares disposed of will be considered in foal unless proven otherwise. All stock left with us will receive the best of care, but acci- ents and escapes will be at owner's risk.
