Kester's Combination Box Clamp and Press.
This new and improved machine for Prizing Tobacco in the Box, and for Lining out Tobacco Boxes and Heading for all work from six to twelve inches inclusive. This ma- chine holds the box firm while the pressure is being put on the tobacco in the box. By turning the crank in the ring to the left, by means of the lever as shown in the cut, opens the clamp and the billets simultaneously, and by turning the lever to the right, tightens the billets to suit the size of the box; then by turning the hand wheel at the top, the screw is run down on the tobacco, which can be pressed as hard as desired ; the liners can then be nailed in, after which run the screw up, the head cap and arms, which work on .a carriage by means of rollers, may be run back out of the way; finish lining, then turn the lever to the left, press the treadle, which raises the box, so that it may be taken read- ily from the clamp. Takes about space of ordinary box screw, weight, 1075 pounds.
