Central Vermont Railroad Company .- This extensive corporation, operating a majority of all the Vermont lines, offers superior accommodations to the traveling public. With palace cars by day and sleeping ears by night, attentive officers and quick time, it is a pleasure to travel over this superb road among the mountains, along the picturesque valleys, and anon catching glimpses of the beautiful Lake Champlain. The ever varying scenery makes this a popular route for tourists. The Ogdensburg & Lake Champlain R. R. is also operated in con- nection with this line. Dr. C. W. Coolidge, dentist, of Bristol, N. H., is prepared to do all kinds of dentistry. He publishes a card on page 322.
C. W. Coolidge & Co., proprietors of the Pemigewasset Poultry Yards, publish a card on page 322, in which they advertise all kinds of domestic fowls. They make a specialty of Lang- shans, of which they have the purest strains. Persons interested will do well to call, or cor- respond with them, at Bristol, N. H., P. O. box 295.
Hall & Jenkins' carriage repository is located at 29 Main street, Littleton, where is kept constantly on hand a complete stock of horse furnishing goods, carriages, robes, sleighs, etc. They also deal in horses, with stables located on South street. Give them a call when in need of anything in their line, and you will be satisfied with the bargains you receive. They print a card on page 2, part 2d.
Henry, Johnson & Lord, an enterprising firm of Burlington, Vt., offer nepenthe to their suf- fering brethren, in the several proprietary medicines they manufacture. mentioned in their card on page 353. We would advise all afflicted ones to heed their proclamation and receive a respite from the ills flesh is heir to.
A. E. Hough, at Lebanon. N. H., is a teacher of music and dancing. He will also tune and repair pianos at a moderate fee. He publishes a card on page 352.
A. G. Hovelle, of West Lebanon, (p. o. box 147), advertises to do house and sign painting, frescoing, etc .. in a card on page 352. Mr. Hovelle is also a scenie and crayon artist, and will no doubt please all patrons who apply to him.
Littleton Lumber Co., of Littleton, N. H., advertise their goods in a card on page 340. The reputation of the company assures satisfaction to the purchaser.
Parker & Young Mfg. Co., at Lisbon, N. H., do an extensive business in the manufacture of piano sounding boards, packing boxes, bobbins, ete. They are also lumber dealers. They publish a card on page 340.

ASHLAND .- Henry H. Sheppard's saw-mill, near Little Squam lake, was built by him- It is operated by steam-power, and has the capacity for turning out about 1,000,000 feet of Inmber per annum. He employs twenty men.
DORCHESTER .- Among the first settlers of Dorchester were three brothers, Ezekiel, John and Jacob Sanborn from New Market, who located on what is now known as Thompson Hill. It was then all forest, and they made homes and cleared farms for themselves, where they reared large families. Many of their descendants still remainin this and surrounding towns.

One of the most important improvements in town has been lifting and grading the highway from the main bridge to the cemetery. This was the most expensive under- taking of anything of the kind carried on in this part of the state. This piece of road, when connected with Dow avenue by a street soon to be opened, will complete a superb square for bicyling. The entire work was under the superintendence of Mr. Marshall A. Bowles, of this town.

LISBON .- The Advent Christian church, of Lisbon, located at Sugar Hill, was organized in 1847 by Rev. I. H. Shipman, the first pastor, with thirty-five mumbers. The house of worship was erected before the organization of the ehnreh, at a cost of $3,000.00, abont its present value, and will comfortably seat 250 persons. More than 200 members have moved from this church to the west. It has always been very fruitful in converts, and one church in the west now has forty members who were converted here under the pastorate of Rev. I. H. Shipman, who before his death went west and preached to them. He was for twenty years pastor of the church, His successor, Rev. N. Wheeler, was also very successful, many souls being saved during the fourteen years of his pastorate. Then followed two years without a pastor, during which time thirty men were listened to without being called to the pastorate, but in October, 1883, the present pastor, Rev. HI. H. Tneker, entered upon his labors, since which time forty members have been added to the church. The society now has 110 members, and the Sabbath-school 92 seholars.
