6. JOSEPH PHILBRICK, son of James (2), born Oct. 1, 1663; married, 1685-'86, Triphena, daughter of William and Rebecca Marston of Hampton. He was the first of the name to come to Rye and settled about 1702 near Dan- iel Dalton's, near the house of Frances Jenness. He was ordered to court for building a house on the town's land. It is said that his wife was a daughter of one of the first three settlers of Hampton. She died Nov. 15, 1729, aged 66 years. He died Nov. 17, 1755. Children :
