BURYING GROUNDS.

THE AUBURN STREET CEMETERY, or " Proprietors' Burying Ground," is situated on two gentle swells of land at the foot of Richards avenue. It covers about thirteen acres, and in the cen- tre is a beautiful, artificial pond, surrounded by an extensive lawn, interspersed with trees and shrubbery. The remainder of the ground is laid out in lots of various dimensions, divided by gravel walks, and the whole surrounded by a substantial stone wall and rows of elm and maple trees. A large portion of the lots which have been taken up are ornamented with handsome iron fences, and contain many tasteful and elegant monuments. A capacious receiving tomb is connected with the ground, for the purpose of deposit during the winter or at other times.

The ground is held by the Trustees of the South Church Char- ity Fund, and the Superintendent is Mr. Joseph H. Foster, to whom application for lots, or for the use of the receiving tomb, can be made.
