JOHN CAMP or Kemp settled on the east part of L 4 R 10, and west of the brook which is called by his name. He was in town quite early, perhaps before 1:20, and was doubtless the first settler on the lot named. The location of his house is still well marked, and a few years since some rose-bushes also remained to indicate the spot. In his old age he gave his property to the town for the support of himself and wife. Ile d. Mar. 10, 1805, a. 95 y. : his w. d. July 20, 1290. They had one dan. and prob. other ch. thongh nothing is known certainly about it.
