Battles of the Regiment .- The Thirteenth Regi- ment New Jersey Volunteer Infantry was mustered into the service of the United States, for three years, on the 25th of August, 1862, at Camp Frelinghuysen, Newark, N. J., and was mustered out on the 8th day of June, 1865, by reason of the close of the war. During its term of service, which was two years, nine months and fourteen days, it participated in the fol- lowing engagements :
