Mrs. Anna Dorf


Mrs. Anna Dorf of the Roberts- ville road, was stricken on Sunday and the First Aid Squad of Free- hold transported her to the office 'of Dr. H. H. Freedman, where she was pronounced dead.


She is survived by her hus- band, Harry; a daughter, Mrs. Hel- en Livezy of Jamaica, L. I .; and tour sons, William, who is in the U. S. Navy and is stationed at the sub-base at New London, Conn .; Joseph, of Brooklyn; Max, of Adel- phia, and Alexander, of Freehold.


Funeral services were held yes- terday morning at 10:30 at her late home, with the Rev. John H Schwacke, pastor of St. Peter's Episcopal church, officiating. Inter- ment was in Maplewood cemetery by Richard VanSant.


Mrs. Margaret Duell


Mra. Margaret Duell, aged 67 years, wife of Charles Duell, died on Sunday at her home in Farm- Ingdale. Funeral services were held on Wednesday evening at the Mat- thews and Francioni funeral home at Asbury Park, by the Rev. Harry C. Stiles, pastor of the Glendola M. P. cburch. Interment was made In Irvington on Thursday.


Killed By Train


Mrs. Ellen Downey of Port Mon- mouth was instantly killed, last Thursday afternoon, when the car In which she was riding with her husband, John Downey, was struck by a Central Railroad train. Ap- parently the car skidded and turn- ed sideways on the track. Mrs. Downey was thrown from the car, and Mr. Downey was pinned In the wreckage.


Mrs. Susan A. Dingman


Funeral services for Mrs. Susan A. Dingman were held Saturday morning at the Freeman funeral home, and in St. Gabriel's church, Bradevelt, in charge of Rev. John Horan. Interment was in the church cemetery.


Mrs. Dingman was 25 years old and died last Wednesday of pneu- monia, at the Marlboro state hos- pital, where she was employed. She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Towne, Brade- velt, and was the widow of George Dingman. She is survived by two small children.


Oliver Dean


Oliver Dean, 36, a constable in Manalapan township for nine years, died on March 3 in Hazard hos- pital, Long Branch, where he had been a patient for more than a year.


Mr. Dean was born in Newark. For 15 years he had lived in Map- lewood and was employed by the Prudential Insurance company for 18 years as a lithographer. He was ยก president of the Manalapan town- ship Republican Club and a miem- ber of the Republican county com- mittee.


Funeral services were held last Thursday night at his late resi- dence with the Rev. Charles Neff, pastor of Old Tennent church, of- ficiating, and services by the Free- hold Elks Club. Interment was made at Port Jervis, N. Y.


Frank C. Danser


Frank C. Danser, 74 years, of Hightstown, for 26 years manager of the Farmers Cooperative Associ- ation of New Jersey, died Tuesday night at St. Francis hospital, Tren- ton.


He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lydia Danser; a daughter, Mrs. De-' mos Bakoulis of Hightstown; and two sons, Clifford of Mt. Holly, and Cecil of Detroit, Mich.


Charles Drake


Charles Drake, 72 years, a well krown painting contractor of Long Branch, died at his home there, on Friday night, after a two years ill- ness. He was born in Freehold, the son of the late Henry Drake and Hannah VanBrunt. He had been a resident of Long Branch for 70 years.


He is survived hy his wife, Hattie E. Patterson Drake; three sisters, Miss Hattie Drake and Mrs. Joel H. Worden. Sr., Long Branch, and Mrs. Rudolph Marks, Livingston; one brother, Harry Drake, Long Branch.

Miss Elizabeth D'Arcey, 417 Es- sex avenue, Spring Lake, died Sun- day night in Fitkin hospital, Nep- tune.


She is survived by seven sisters: Mrs. Vincent P. Keuper, Asbury Park; Mrs. Frank Moyer, Mrs. Har- ry Dillon, Belmar; Mrs. Frank Knauer, West Freehold; Mrs. Har- ry Draude, Atlantic City; Mrs. Frank Downey and Miss Mary D'Arcey, Spring Lake; also three brothers, John and Richard, Spring Lake, and James, New York city. - -


William R. DeBow


William R. DeBow, aged 78 years, died early Wednesday morning at his home at 223 Carnetta Drive, Lakewood. His body was removed to the C. H. T. Clayton & Son Fu- neral Home at Adelphia. Funeral services will be held on Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock at his late home, and at 2:30 o'clock at the Holmanville Presbyterian church, with the Rev. W. Taylor Dale, of- ficiating. Interment will be made In Holmanville Cemetery by Direc- tor Clayton.


He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Carrie Fielder DeBow, two sons,


Harold F. and Robert L. DeBow; one brother, John DeBow; and two sisters, Mrs. Aaron Applegate and Mrs. Carrie Curtis, all of Lake- wood.


Henry Deka


Henry Deka, 51, a former resi dent of Matawan, died on Monday at the Marlboro state hospital. Fu neral services were held on Tues day at the VanSant colonial home with the Rev. Walter J. Lake, pas- tor of the First Baptist church, of- ficiating. Interment was in the Marlboro state hospital cemetery.


Mr. Deka has a son, John Deka of New York.


Matteo A. DILorenzo


Matteo A. DiLorenzo, died on Sunday night at his home at No. 6 Washington Street, here. Funeral services were held at St. Rose of Lima Catholic church on Wedres- 'day morning at 10 o'clock, where 'requiem mass was celebrated by his son, Rev. Salvatore DiLorenzo, pastor of St. Anthony's Catholic church at Red Bank. Interment was made in the Freehold Catho- lic cemetery in charge of Funeral Director W. H. Freeman.


He is survived by his wife, Anna; and in addition to the son men- itioned, he is survived by the fol- lowing sons and daughters: Frank, Saverio, and Bernadina, at home; and Sister Claire Salvatore at Mor- ris Hall, Lawrenceville; and two brothers, Nick, of West Virginia, and Anthony, of Baltimore.


Emma L. Duane


Mis. Emma L. Duane died on Tuesday, at her residence. Private funeral services will be held to- morrow at the W. H. Freeman fun- c:al home.


She is survived by a sister, Mrs. Grotat Robbinson, 82 Broad street, " .. . whom she made her home.

Funeral services for Stephen Do- bry were held on Wednesday moin- ing at 8:30 from his late home in Montrose and at 9 o'clock in St. Mary's Catholic Church, at Colts Neck, with the Rev. Joseph Donnel- ly ,celebrating requiem mass. Inter- ment was in the Freehold Catholic Cemetery by W. H. Freeman.


Mr. Dobry was 78 years old and died on Saturday at his home.


Mrs. Wilhelmina Dotel


Mrs. Wilhelmina Dotel, age 74 years, widow of John Dotel, of Brooklyn, died Tuesday at Freewood Acreson the Freehold-Lakewood road, where she had been spending some time. The body was in charge of W. H. Freeman, here. She will be cremated at the Fresh Pond Crematory, Brooklyn, on Saturday.


Ernest M. Doughty


Ernest M. Doughty, aged 82 years, a resident of Shark River Manor, died on Wednesday at the Welfare Home at Briar Hill. Funeral ser- vices were held on Saturday after- noon at the Light House Tabernac- le at Asbury Park. Interment was made in Old Willow Cemetery, Rumson, in charge of Funeral Di- rector C. H. T. Clayton & Son of Adelphia. He is survived by four sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Allen and Mrs. James Chadwick, Fair Haven; ! Mrs. Grace Pitcher, Asbury Park. and Mrs. L. Smith of West Belmar.


Jolin Driscoll


John Driscoll, age 72 years, died en Monday at the Marlboro State Hospital. Funera services were held on Tuesday, at 10 a. m., at the VanSant Colonial Home with the Rev. John Horan, pastor of St. Gabriel's Catholic church, Brade- velt. officiating. Interment was! made in the hospital cemetery.


Mrs. Lillian Douglass


Mrs. Lillian Douglass, aged 31 years of Perrineville, who was kill- ed in the automobile and bus acci- dent on the Englishtown-Old Bridge road on Sunday night, will be held on Friday, at the conven- ience of the family at the W. H. Freeman funeral home. She is survived hy a brother in Newark and a sister in Brooklyn. Inter- ment wil lbe made in Maplewood Cemetery.


James Dugan


Funeral services for James Du- gan were held on Tuesday morning . at 8 o'clock at the Freeman Fune- ral home and at 9 o'clock in St. Rose of Lima Catholic church, with the Rev. Joseph Donnelly of Farmingdale celebrating requiem mass. Interment was in the Free- hold Catholic cemetery,


Mr. Dugan was 81 years old and a former resident of Vanderhury and died on Sunday at the Welfare Home. He is only survived hy nicees and nephews.

DIES FROM POISON


Anthony Durczak, 66 years, a general storekeeper of Scobeyville, died last Wednesday, enroute to Monmouth Memorial hospital, af- ter he had swallowed a quantity ! of powdered lye in his home.


M :. Durczak was found suffering from the effects of the poison by his daughter, Virginia, who heard him call for water. He was given emergency treatment by Dr. Edwin S. Osten, Red Bank, but died in; the ambulance before reaching the hospital. He had been in ill health for three years.


He had operated the store en the Freehold road, for about 15 years, but had made plans to rent it and move to Bridesburg, Pa. -


He is survived by his wife, Mary, and several children.


Miss Marion DuBois


Miss Marion DuBois, forthter cf Mr. and Mrs. Warren L. DuBois of West Philadelphia. and grand- daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. George DuBois, who formerly own- ed the residence at 3 Broad street. here. died suddenly on Friday, Jan. 2nd.


Funeral services were held in Philadelphia, yesterday mornin .. followed by interment in OMl Ten- nent cemeter".


Besides her parents, she is sur- vivel by a brother. Livingston, at Iome.


Ephriam Downs


Ephiiam Downs, 72, known as Ephriam Megan, of Long Branch, died on Saturday at Monmouth Me- morial hospital, where he had been tca two weeks.


He was born in Freehold, the son of William and Lida Holman Megan Mr. Downs was a carpenter b ;. trade.


He is survived by a sister, Mrs. Lydia White of Long Branch. 1

Miss Lillian Finkelstein, daugh- ter of Mrs. Sarah Bimstein of 21 Mechanic street, was married to Lieutenant Morris Dundee, son of Mr. and Mrs. Nathan Dundee of Tulsa, Oklahoma, on Saturday at S p. m., at her home. The cere- mony was performed by Rabhi Isi- dore Solomon and the Rev. Efroim Pruzanski.
