This Academy, conducted by the SISTERS OF ST. JOSEPH, and under the patronage of Right Rev. J. Loughlin, Bishop of the Diocese, is situated six miles from New York City, Flushing is an old village, long noted for its nurseries and beautiful gardens, and lies upon an inclined plane, rising from the Bay eastward until it overlooks the surrounding country, Flushing Bay, the East River and Long Island Sound, and the Palisades on the Hudson. The Flushing and North Side Railroad runs thirty- eight trains daily between New York and Flushing, making the trip to and from the city of New York in less than half an hour, and the traveling accomodations are unsurpassed. The cars are reached by Thirty-fourth Street Ferry and James Slip.

Pupils of all denominations received; and, while the utmost care is taken in the religious instruction of the children of Catholic parents, there is no interference with the children of those of a different belief.
