HARBOR MASTERS,


There are seven Harbor Masters, who have divided the city into seven districts ; their general office is kept at E. & G. W. Blunt's. 179 Water street, corner of Burling slip ;- the districts subject to alteration at the discretion of the Harbor Masters.


DISTRICT I.


CHARLES CHAMBERLAIN, whose district extends from east side of Burling slip up the East River, to the extent of the port. A slate at Collis & Mitchell's, South cor. Roosevelt.


DISTRICT II.


GIDEON FOUNTAIN, whose district extends from east side of Burling slip to west side o Coffee House slip. A slate at Messrs. E. & G. W. Blunt's 179 Water.


DISTRICT III.


HENRY KIP, whose district extends from west side of Coffee House slip to east side of Old slip. A slate at William Aymar & Co., 50 South.


DISTRICT IV.


T. A. JEROME, whose district extends from east side of Old slip to the Battery. A slate at J. Atkins & Co., 38 South.

HARBOR MASTERS' FEES .- On all vessels of the United States, and on all foreign vessels permitted by law to enter on the same terms as vessels of the United States, which shall enter, and load, or unload, or make fast to any wharf, one cent and a half per ton, according to the tonnage in the vessel's register or papers. On all other vessels double that rate. The fees are payable in forty- eight hours after the vessel's arrival, (at the Custom house.) on penalty of paying double the amount and costs of suit.
