The Utica, Ithaca and Elmira Railroad, which was completed in 1871, intersects lots 99 and 100, in the ex- treme southeast corner. MeLean is the only station in Groton. We believe that the town was bonded to the amount of $15,000 to assist in its construction.

The Dryden, Groton and Moravia. Telegraph Co. was organized in April, 1865. Their lines run through the central part from north to south.
