Under orders from General Thomas, the Third turned over its horses and arms at Macon. It pro- ceeded to Nashville, and was mustered out, from thence to Camp Chase, Ohio, where it was paid off and dis- charged on the 14th of August, 1865, having served four years,-less twenty days.
