APPENDIX.

ENUMERATION OF THE BUILDINGS OF DIFFERENT KINDS, IN THE

CITY AND SUBURBS OF PHILADELPHIA.

The following correct enumeration, taken the latter end of the year 1810 by John A. Paxton (the editor), exhibits the brick and frame dwellings, store houses, manufactur- ing and public buildings, workshops, stables, &c. in each street, lane, alley, &c. with a distinct account of the situa- tion and number of new buildings erected in the year (1810)-It likewise shows an abstract account of the whole number of buildings in the compactly built parts of the different districts, viz. City, Northern Liberties, Penn Township, Kensington, Southwark, Moyamensing and Passyunk.

The buildings in courts, not noticed in this table, are cast into the streets, &c. on which they open .- It must be re- collected that the streets with north or south attached to them, are enumerated together ;- for example, Second street, from one extremity to the other.
