106 HOSPITAL STREET,
Cor. of Langley.
In connection with the Providence Steam Laundry, we have put up a Patent Machine for Cleansing Carpets. The Only Machine in the City that Steams Carpets. By this method the Carpets are first beaten on the back, and brushed on the face. The dust is removed from the compartment by an Ex- haust Fan, which also removes any moth or larva that may be beaten from the Carpet. The Carpets are next Steamed by super heated steam, which brightens up the colors in a wonder- ful manner. This feature is not contained in any other mach- ine, and is quite as important as beating, for renovating the Carpet. After steaming, the Carpet is dried by a hot cylinder. Thus it will be seen that the machine is not only to perform the beating of a Carpet, but to Steam, dry and brush it, there- by renovating or restoring it to its normal condition. We have the sole Patent Right for Rhode Island. Knowing that we can do work in a manner superior to any thing that has yet been accomplished in this department, we respectfully solicit the patronage of the public. Orders by mail or through the Western Unton Telephone will receive prompt attention. Orders by Tele- phone may be left at the News Depot, Butler Exchange.

-TIIE- Rhode Island Democrat
is a large weekly paper, containing fifty-four columns, and is published at the low price of
Two Dollars per Annum.
THE RHODE ISLAND DEMOCRAT is emphatically a Dem- ocratie newspaper, npholding the impregnable principles which have made the Democratic party, par excellence, the Party of the People. Though in its infancy, THE RHODE ISLAND DEMOCRAT has one of the largest subscription lists. in the country, which is constantly increasing, and it is there- fore as good an advertising medium as can be had in the! State. A glance through its columns will be sufficient proof of the DEMOCRAT'S popularity among local business men, who know its value better than others.
THE RHODE ISLAND DEMOCRAT is a popular favorite to- day, in thousands of Rhode Island homes, and in fact is, in every sense, a
Popular Journal of Democratic Politics, News, and General Literature.
The tendency of the Republican party toward Imperial- i'm through the centralization of all political power in Washington, has awakened the people to national dangers, greater than ever before experienced. " Eternal Vigilance. is the price of Liberty." and THE RHODE ISLAND DEMO. CRAT will prove itself an honest and unswerving advocate of popular government, as handed down to us by the Fa- thers of the Revolution of 1776.
The Presidential Year of 1880
will exceed in popular excitement and discussion that of any previous Presidential Canvass, and in the work of se- curing by logical argument the success of the only Political Party that has ever blessed the country with an honest and patriotic administration of affairs, in accordance with Con- stitutional Law.
THE RHODE ISLAND DEMOCRAT will ever be found alive to the issues of the campaign.
