PROVIDENCE JOURNAL.

Deaths Published from January 3, 1820, to December 31, 1829.

The present series of newspapers known as the " Providence Journal" began with an issue on January 3, 1820, and has been published semi-weekly on Monday and Thursday until the present time. On July 21, 1829, the Daily Journal was established. The numbers of the Daily Journal from July 21 to December 31 are not on file in the Journal office, but the file there commences with Jan- uary 1, 1830. The file of the semi-weekly, January 3, 1820, to December 31, 1829, in the Journal office is not complete, nor is that in the library of the Historical Society. With the aid of the two, however, a complete record has been obtained.

The deaths from A to R were published in our preceding vol- ume XII of the Vital Records. The present installment therefore commences with the letter S.
