I, Michael Gleaves, of Davidson County Tennessee for Love, goodwill and affection which I have and do bear to my two grand-daughters, Martha and Rachel Turner, daughters of Arthur and Elizabeth Turmer of Putherford County, by these presents do freely give unto said Martha Turner a certain Bay mare six years old with a star in her forehead and snip on one side of her nose, branded on the mounting side M. G. and I also give to above Rachel Turner a certain Sorrel Horse, two years old, a bald of white face, his feet and part of his legs white, branded on the near side on shoulder M. G. to have and to hold etc.
