This enterprising village of Utah County is made up largely of representatives of the rich farming community in which it is located. It is situated on the U P Ry, 34 miles southeast of Salt Lake City, on the borders of Utah Lake, a beautiful sheet of fresh water, a favorite resort for fishing, boat- ing, and other pastimes enjoyel by summer tourists and pleasuring parties. The population is estimated at nearly 3000. The town covers a very large area and as it includes many farmers in the population the city has the appearance of a very large place. Near by is the famous American Fork Canyon, the scenery of which is noted for its grandeur and sublimity. The magnificent and lofty mountains, the placid lake, the splendid beach, the elegant bath houses, the gorgeous scenery, lively sporting, etc., all render this a specially favorite resort.
