LOGAN


The county seat of Cache is 67 miles from Ogden, beautifully situated at the month of Logan canyon, whence issnes sufficient water to furn- ish more than any ( esired power for the numerous manufacturies thus enabling the large surplus to be utilized by the surrounding coun- try for any necessary irrigating purposes. The city has a population of about 4,000, who are very industrious and enterprising. The Logan Temple is considesed one of the most magnificent structures in the en- tire west. The city boasts of quite a large number of elegant residen- ces and public buildings, embracing about a dozen district and mis- sion schools.

DAVIS COUNTY


This county, the smallest, yet not the least in importance, has an area of about 250 square miles. It is located between Weber and Salt Lake counties on the north and south and is bounded on the cast by the Wasatch Mountains and on the west by the Great Salt Lake.


This county is very rich in agricultural resources. The Utah Cen- tral R. R. passes along the entire county through well tilled farms and bounteous orchards laden heavily with all kinds of fruits. Of the arable land contained in this county there is but little that is not con- stantly under cultivation.


FARMINGTON.


The county seat of Davis County, is 18 miles north of Salt Lake City on the Utah Central R. R. Its resources consist mainly of farm- ing and its residents are thrifty and prosperous. The popniation numbers about 1000 souls.

A charming settlement of about 1,200 inhabitants-somewhat scattered, the residents being mostly farmers. It lies about ten miles north from Salt Lake City. The title is very appropriate, for the sur- rounding soil is extremely bountiful in its yield of vegetables, fruits and cerea s, and its residents are thrifty and prosperous. The town has one of the finest meeting bonses in the territory.

IRON COUNTY


Stretches from one side of the territory to the other, being bounded on the north by Beaver and Plute, and on the south by Washington and Kane counties. The eastern portion laps over the Colorado line. Tremendous deposits of iron are continually found in the county, und numberless coal claims with extraordinary large veins have been dally uncovered. JUAB COUNTY


Is one of the central counties, being bounded on the north by Utah and Tooele counties, on the south by Millard County, and on the west by the State of Nevada. It was.first settled at Nephi. In the eastern part of the country a large number of rich mines have been developed, prominent among which rank the monster mines belonging to the Mammoth Mining & Milling Company at Tintie, who havealso erected large mills and smelters-thus giving employment to thousands of men, and bringing the country into prominence as one of the greatest in importance which may furnish adequate resources sufficient to es- tablish numerous large and permanent towns.


'The county has an area of 100 square miles of the Oquirrh range of mountains. The climate is agreeable and healthy, the nights being cool in summer and the snow fall light in winter.


NEPHI,


The county seat of Juab County, is ninety-one miles south of Salt Lake City on the U. C. R. R. It has a population of 2,500, with its main shp- port of farming and stock raising.


Near by, is the lordly Mount Nebo, 12,000 feet in height, the cul- mination of the Wasatch Range, and one of the grandest penks in America.

MILLARD COUNTY


This is one of the central counties of Utah. It has an area of 6,8)0 square miles, running oue hundred miles east and west, and sixty- eight miles north and south. The largest stream in the country is the Sevier River, which enters from the north and ends in a large lake that occupies a large part of the Sevier valley desert. Considerable of the industries of the county pertain to lumbering and stock raising. Thereare a number of flour mills in full operation.
