Located 100 yards due east of Pendleton Church. Intersection of Routes 649 & 827
This cemetery overlooks the house the Penleys built. Information given me by MAUDE STEWART and NANNIE JOHNSON is that SAMUEL was brother of BELL PENLEY VICARS LANE, who is buried in the Estepp Cemetery. SAMUEL's wife name was CASSIE. They thought she might be buried here, as did others. We only found two tombstones.
SAMUEL J. PENLEY died May 15 1901 age 44 years. "He died as he lived, a christian" (his stone is broken off it's base)
J. H. POWERS Nov 7 1841 - Oct 1 1905 (couldn't read inscription, headstone is loose, has brobably been moved. Cattle graze here.)
