Calls attention to his efforts in the cause of liberty and asks consideration of his cause; has been detained more than fifteen months to the distress of his family, the loss of contracts, derangements of buisness, and injury of his property; his friends are not permitted to visit him; can no longer obtain sub- sistance money "to submit to exist on the rations and clothes of a prison my soul recoils"; Allen desires an opportunity to answer in his own defense, vindicate his character, or suffer the consequences.
