Justice of the Peace John Caldwell swore thatthe was well acquainted in the Spring of the year with a certa in Joseph Procter, frequently being at his house below Fish Creek on the Chio River and did hear him acknowledge female child named Nancy as his and she was esteemed by neighbors as such --- and Caldwell further said that Procter shortly after was retted by Indians a nd that to the best of his knowledge no other child but the above named Nancy by his wife -. Caldwell applied on behalf of the hearsrto said Joseph Procter for four hundred acres on Chio River known as Procter's lower pla ce and had it surveyed.
