SHOSHONI.

An important town in Fremont county, located at about the exact geographical center of the state, on the Chicago & Northwestern Railway. One hundred miles from Casper and 50 miles from Lander. Supply point for a large portion of the recently opened Shoshone res- ervation. It is surrounded on all sides by a rich stock raising country. Grain and hay are also raised in the vi- cinity. The logical shipping point for the Copper Moun- tain and Williow Creek mining districts, which are now producing considerable quantities of ore. Flowing hot springs within sixteen miles. Extensive coal deposits near town. Sixteen miles from the Boysen power dam in the Big Horn Canon, which will generate 6.800 elec- trical horse-power by water and transmit to surrounding towns and mines. Has one of the most complete and modern water systems in the state, taking water from Wind river, a distance of three miles. Shoshoni is the transfer point for passengers to Bonneville, 3 miles north on the C., B. & Q. R. R. All different lines of busi- ness are well represented. Town incorporated May, 1906. Population 600. Altitude 5,000 feet.

CODY

An important and rapidly growing city, county seat of Park county, 100 miles south of Billings, Mont. Cody is the western terminus of the Cody branch of the Chicago, Bur- lington & Quincy Railroad and the eastern gateway to the Yellowstone Park. It is also the western terminus of two great transcontinental automobile routes, the Black and Yellow Trail and the Yellowstone Highway. "The Cody Way" to the National Park is over a magnificent highway built and maintained by the government, through seventy miles of the most glorious and awe-inspiring scenery in the world. The best game country in America is in close proxi- mity to Cody. Here will be found the finest fishing in the world, Park county having more miles of mountain streams than any other county of like size in the United States, and every stream full of trout. Close to Cody are many mountain resorts where tourists can live comfortably and economically. Located here is Buffalo Bill's world famous hotel, the Irma. Cody has a good system of water works, good schools, many churches, a modern theatre, large wool market, sulphur mines, excellent hotel accommodations, streets that are well lighted and well kept, fine buildings and well kept lawns and mineral springs that are surpassed no where in the world. Park county offers golden opportunities to both the home seeker and investor. Rich in gold, copper, and other metals, its mineral resources are surpassed only by its agricultural pos- sibilities. Thousands of acres of fertile, irrigated lands and range land that can not be excelled. It offers an ideal location for the stock raiser and farmer. Population 1,300. Altitude 4,985 feet. (For cattle and sheepmen see the Live Stock and Wool Growers' List under Park County.)
