MEREDITH TAYLOR, private, placed on Pension Roll May 21, 1883. He had a son - Meredith Taylor, Jr. and a son- Joh Henry Taylor who was born March 26,1797, married Luvennia Turnipseed in South Carolina October 12, 1826, their son:


John William Taylor born July 2, 1838 married October 20, 1863 Lelia Rebecca Wilkins, She died 1868. Their son:


Thomas Bonner Taylor born October 1865 never married, died at the home of his cousin, Mrs. Luvenia Puckett in Carrollton, Pickens County, Alabama December 19, 1940 and was buried in the Garden Cemetery, near Aliceville, Pickens County, Arabama. He lived in Columbus, Mississippi in his early manhood and lived in Birmingham, Alabama in his latter years, being an active member of the First Baptist Church in Birmingham, Alabama.


The Garden Baptist Church was moved to Alicevill in later years.

He left Rowan Co., N.C. to Rutherford Co., Tenn, then to Lauderdale Co., Ala., and to Pickens Co., Ala. in 1836.

"Camilla Fowler Minor who was for the most part of her 91 years served the Somerville family (of Pickens County, Alabama ) died recently. Be fore she died, the aged Negro asked that a small china doll which she had cherhished for 84 years, be buried with her, and it was. The doll was a gift to Camilla when she was 7 years old, by her mistress, the late Mrs. John A. Somerville. Camilla had cherish ed the doll all her life, and even more after it went miraculously * unscathed through a fire which destroyed her home. After the fire, Mrs. J. V. Park, Sr. a daughter of Mrs. Somerville built her an- other house in the back yard of the Parkresidence and there Camilla live in contentment until the end of her days."
