ROCKWELL, p. 762. In the 2d Book of Records of Court and Probate of the Connecticut Colony, recently discovered, we find (page 162) the will of JOHN ROCKWELL of Windsor, who must have been the father of Simon Rock- - well, who, with his sisters Mary (Watson) and - Sanford, are mentioned on page 762, lines 19, 21. This will of John Rockwell, dated April 4, 1661, constitutes his son Simon, as his executor, and to have the estate after his mother's death. The house, land, one cow, etc., are devised to his wife. Simon was to have a cow, and himself and sisters Mary, Hannah (wife of Zachary Sanford, mentioned above), were to have one pound each, and their children one pound apiece. The value of the estate was £244.05. He d. May 10, 1662.


Wilmet (Wilmoth, Wilmarth) Rockwell, wid. of the above John, executed a will on the 12th of May, 1662, wherein she gives " to my daughter Mary, one Bed, that which Simon lies on, with two Blankets, two sheets, one pil- low " and, "to my daughter Hannah, one little Bed, which my husband died on, with two blankets, two sheets, one pillow," and " all my wearing clothes to my two daughters to be equally divided to them. And all ye rest of my estate I give to my son Simon." She d. May 12, 1662.


Query. Who can inform us of the origin of this family ?
