Milder than light is my triumphant fair. As kind as angels; soft as evening air, Rich in her mind, in every state content, Young, modest, virtuous, chaste and innocent. Religious. pious, meek, sincere and good,

Just to her friends, but truer to her God, Courteous to all, from affectation free, Haughty to none and very kind to me, Attached to truth whene'er it does appear,

WILLS, p. 842, JOSHUA, m. Azubah Lamson, May 5, 1670 ; his dau. Hannah was b. Aug. 24, 1682. (Col. Rec.)

P. 842, the heading of Appendix No. 1, should be Sir Richard Saltonstall's letter, etc.

P. 854, Note to Wine and Bread Accounts of the Windsor Church-It would seem as if the church in Mr. Warham's day (the first communion in the record is dated before his death), in their zeal to imitate that planted by the apostles, may have made a regular meal of the communion service, instead of the practice of the present day. The large quantity of bread * and wine used-and the data of calculation in the record (the number of members, the number of communions, and quantities of bread and wine, all being given) are unusually full-would seem to indicate a " love feast " on a more hearty scale than is in accordance with the present custom. Still it may possibly be susceptible of some other explanation.

J. Hammond Trumbull, Esq., of Hartford, Conn., some years ago received letters from England enquiring for evidence of such a practice in the early American churches, and in reply sent to his correspondent a copy of this record.

. * Supposed to be an average of about two ounces per each member.
