The following is kindly furnished by Edwin Stearns of Middletown, Conn .: SAMUEL Eggleston (or Eagleston) son of Begat Eagleston of Windsor, was b. in England, emigrated to New England with his parents 1630, was first at Dorchester, Mass., afterwards removed 1635 to Windsor, Conn., with Rev. Mr. Warham and his company, subsequently resided in Hartford, and there m. Sarah, d. of Nicholas Disbrough of Wethersfield, 1661. He finally settled in Middletown, Conn., and bought house and lot May 18, 1663, of Wm. Smith on " Meeting House Square," where he resided until 1689, Jan. 18, when he sold the property to Rev. Noadiah Russell for £70. He was admitted to the Ist Church on a certificate from church in Windsor (and Obediah Allen was admitted from Windsor same day). Ile d. February, 1691, estate £105. July 12, 1809, in Salem, Mass., is now living in Manchester, N. H., and has 3 children. Their dau. Eleanor, b. in Salem, Feb. 4, 1811, m. Aaron Woods of Hillsborough, N. H., and has 9 children. Their dau. Mary Ann, b. in Salem, Sept. 21, 1814, m. Cyrus Whitmore, and lives in Hoosick, N. H .; have had 8 children. Their dau. Lucy, b. Oct. 25, 1817, d. at South Boston, Mass., Sept. 7, 1819 ; Charles, b. at South Boston, April 7, 1820, m. Lucina (dau. of William) Eggleston of Burke, Vt. (a descendant of Begat, the settler), lived in Hillsborough, N. H., where he d. Nov. 23, 1849. Children : Mary Ann, and Charles Byram, both d. young.
