HISTORY OF JEFFERSON COUNTY


This Township is nearly all Prairie, gen- erly presents a uniform surfice, covered with Blew joint & sage grass. The soil is nearly all of the first quality-its connection with timber on the East & North the frac- tional township on the N, heavy timbered, wile under the greater portion of it valu- able for agricultureal perposes.


May the 8th.


I hereby certify that in pursuance of a contract with George W. Jones surveyor General of the United States for Wisconsin & Iowa bearing date the 10th of April, 1841, and in strict conformity to the laws of the United States, & the instructions of said Sur-


veyor General, I have surveyed and subdi- vided into sections, Township No. 73, North Range No. 10 West, in the Territory of Iowa. And I do further certify that the foregoing are the true and original Field Notes of the said survey & subdivision, ex- ecuted as aforesaid.
