Lawrence M. Ennis, in firm of Ennis & Co- burn, 1895-8; mem, firm of Coburn & Case, until 1908 and since 1911, Coburn & Bentley (Frederick M., formerly with Santa Fé Ry. Co.). Actively en- gaged in the condemnation suits when the right of way was acquired for the main channel of the Drainage Canal and the Sag Channel now in course of construction; has been engaged in many of the most important civil, and a few of the important criminal cases that have been tried in the courts of Cook Co .; has in his library 21 volumes of cases in which he has been engaged, in which opinions have been rendered from the Supreme Court and Appel- late Courts of Ill .; is said to have the largest prac- tice in point of numbers of any lawyer in Chicago; noted for success as a jury advocate.
