Henschod, Theodore - Private - Company B - Enlisted March 1, 1865. Discharged July 19, 1865 for disability.


Heritage, George T. - Captain - Company B - Enlisted at Bloomington, Illinois, August 12, 1861. Elected Orderly-Sergeant. Promoted to First Lieutenant May 26, 1862. Wounded in the shoulder and back October 13, 1864 at Darbytown Cross-Roads, Virginia. Discharged December 7, 1864 upon completion of military service. Captain Heritage was the only son of Thomas and Susan Heritage. He was born in Deddington, Oxfordshire, England on September 26, 1834. His mother died when he was very young, and his father emigrated to Canada and settled at New Hope. At the age of sixteen George went to Brantford, Ontario to learn the trade of carriage-making. In 1856 he went to Chicago, Illinois and then to Bloomington, Illinois. In 1859 he followed the gold trail to Pike's Peak. After limited success in finding gold, he returned to Illinois to join the Thirty-Ninth. In 1889 he was living in Bloomington, Illinois.

Promoted First Lieutenant March 31, 1865. Mustered out with the regiment, December 6, 1865. In 1889 he was living near Wilmington, Illinois.


Hertzog, Charles W. - Private - Company E - Enlisted from Rockville, Illinois, September 20, 1861. Transferred to Veteran Reserve Corps, November 16, 1864. Discharge unknown.


Hertzog, William F. - Private - Company E - Enlisted from Rockville, Illinois, September 20, 1861. Wounded in the thigh May 20, 1864. Killed June 18, 1864 near Ware Bottom Church, Virginia.
