'WARRANT FOR ANNUAL TOWN MEETING
NORFOLK, ss. To either of the Constable's of the Town of Braintree.
Greeting :
In the name of the Commonwealth of Massachu- setts, you are hereby directed to notify and warn the inhabitants of the Town of Braintree, qualified to vote in elections therein, to meet at the polling places in their respective Precincts, to wit :-
Polling Place in Precinct 1, Town Hall.
Polling Place in Precinct 2, Legion Building, Hol- lis Avenue.
Polling Place in Precinct 3, Hose House, Allen Street.
On Monday, the fourth day of March, 1935 at five forty-five o'clock in the forenoon, then and there to bring in to the Wardens of their respective Precincts their votes on the official ballot for a Moderator, Town Clerk, a Town Treasurer, one Selectman for a term of three years, one member of the Board of Pub- lic Welfare for a term of three years, one member of the Board of Assessors for a term of three years, one Water Commissioner and Commissioner of Sinking Fund for a term of three years, two members of the School Committee for a term of three years, one mem- ber of the Municipal Lighting Board for a term of

three years, one member of the Board of Health for a term of three years, one Sewer Commissioner for a term of three years, one Sewer Commissioner for a term of two years, one Park Commissioner for a term of three years, a Tax Collector, a Tree Warden, one member of the Planning Board for a term of three years, and fifteen Constables; also to vote on the fol- lowing question on the same ballot :- "Shall an Act passed by the General Court in the year nineteen hundred and thirty-four, entitled, 'An Act establish- ing a Town Manager Form of Government for the Town of Braintree,' be accepted ?"
The polls will be opened at five forty-five o'clock in the forenoon, and will be closed at three o'clock in the afternoon.
You are further directed to notify and warn the said inhabitants qualified to vote as aforesaid to meet at the Town Hall in said Braintree on Monday, the eleventh day of March, 1935, at ,seven forty-five o'clock in the evening, then and there to act upon the following articles, namely :-
Article 1. To choose all Town Officers, except those elected by ballot.
Article 2. To hear and act upon the report of the several boards of Town Officers, and committees, and choose any committee the Town may think proper.
Article 3. To see if the Town will vote to autho- rize the Town Treasurer, with the approval of the Selectmen, to borrow money from time to time in an- ticipation of the revenue of the financial year begin- ning January 1, 1935, and to issue a note or notes therefor, payable within one year, and to renew such note or notes as may be given for a period of less than

one year in accordance with Section 17, Chapter 44, General Laws; any debt or debts incurred under this vote to be paid from the revenue of the financial year beginning January 1, 1935.
Article 4. To see if the Town will vote to autho- rize the Town Treasurer, with the approval of the Selectmen, to borrow money from time to time in an- ticipation of the revenue of the financial year begin- ning January 1, 1936, and to issue a note or notes therefor, payable within one year, and to renew such note or notes as may be given for a period of less than one year in accordance with Section 17, Chapter 44, General Laws; any debt or debts incurred under this vote to be paid from the revenue of the financial year beginning January 1, 1936.
Article 5. To see if the Town will vote to autho- rize the Town Treasurer, with the approval of the Selectmen, to borrow money from time to time in an- ticipation of the revenue of the financial year begin- ning January 1, 1935, and to issue a note or notes therefor, payable within one year, and to renew any note or notes as may be given for a period of less than one year in accordance with Section 17, Chapter 44, General Laws.
Article 6. To see if the Town will authorize the Town Treasurer, with the approval of the Selectmen, to receive gifts in the form of contributions and agreed contributions, to be applied in reduction of the gen- eral operating expenses of the Town for the current fiscal year.
Article 7. To see if the Town will vote to authorize the Treasurer, with the approval of the Selectmen, to borrow money for the general municipal purposes under the authority of and in accordance with the

provisions of Chapter 49, of the Acts of 1933, or take any action relative thereto.
Article 8. To see if the Town will hold its Treas- urer harmless on his bond for any loss which may arise from the failure of any National Bank or Trust Company in which the funds of the Town may be on deposit, said Bank or Trust Company being designated by the Selectmen.

Article 19. To see if the Town will vote to elect its Tax Collector for a term of three years, under the provisions of Section 1, Chapter 41, General Laws, Tercentary Edition.
Article 20. To see if the Town will vote to accept Section 25A, Chapter 41 of the General Laws, thus empowering the Assessors to appoint assistants with powers equal to their own.
Article 21. To see what sums of money, in addi- tion to that appropriated under any other article, the Town will vote to raise or borrow and appropriate

operation of the Water Department including interest and debt on Water Loans, the same to be taken from the revenue of the Department, and the unexpended balance of 1934.
2. To see if the Town will vote to raise or borrow and appropriate a sum of money for the reconstruc- tion of the dike at Great Pond.
Article 30. To see if the Town will vote to ap- propriate from the income of the Electric Light De- partment, the sum of $300.00 for salaries of the Elec- tric Light Commissioners; the sum of $26,550.00 for the Depreciation Fund; and the sum of $200,799.00 together with the unexpended balance of the year 1934 of $7,288.44 for operating expenses, renewals, repairs and new construction; and to see if the Town will vote to accept from the Electric Light Depart- ment the sum of $23,011.49 to apply on the 1935 Tax Levy, the same to be paid into the treasury of the Town on receipt of settlement of the bills of the vari- ous Town departments due the Electric Light Depart- ment for the year 1934. This amount will be credited to the Old Appropriation Account, carried on the books of the Electric Light Department, and will be the final and full payment of same.
Article 31. To see what sums of money the Town will vote to raise and appropriate for the Sewer De- partment the present year, to be expended by the Board of Sewer Commissioners, and act on anything relating thereto.

Article 41. To see if the Town will vote to accept the layout of Park Avenue, between Putnam Avenue and Arbutus Avenue, as made by the Selectmen, and

shown on Plan entitled "Plan showing the layout of a portion of. Park Avenue, Braintree, Mass;, - H. Emery White, Civil Engineer, dated November 1934," or take any action relative thereto.
ør : Article 42. To see if the Town will vote to accept gift of Charles O. Miller to the Town of a certain par- cel. of land located north of Adams Street, adjacent to Fore River Railroad, and containing 11,850 square feet of land more or less, or take any action relative thereto.
Article 43. To see if the Town will vote to accept conveyance of the Old Colony Gas Company to the Town of Braintree of a certain parcel of property on Shaw Street, East Braintree, and more particularly bounded and described as follows :-
Northerly by Shaw Street; Southerly by the loca- tion of the South Shore Branch of the New York, New Haven and Hartford Railroad Co .; contain- ing 6120 square feet more or less. Said premises are conveyed subject to betterment assessments of 1934, which the grantee, by the acceptance there- of, assumes and agrees to pay, or take any action relative thereto.
Article 44. To see if the Town will vote to accept the layout of STANWOOD AVENUE, situated 410 feet westerly from Hollingsworth Avenue, as made by the Selectmen, and shown on a Plan entitled "Plan and Profile of Stanwood Avenue, Braintree, Mass.,- Ernest W. Branch, Civil Engineer, dated November 23rd, 1934", or take any action relative thereto.
Article 45. To see if the Town will vote to accept as a Town Way, WALNUT STREET, so-called, from Storrs Avenue Extension to Lakeside Drive, Braintree,

jas laid out by the Board of Selectmen, and raise or borrow and appropriate a sum of money for the im- provement of the said way.
Article 46. To see if the Town will vote to accept as a Town Way, LAKESIDE DRIVE, so-called, from Walnut Street to Granite Street, Braintree, as laid out by the Board of Selectmen and raise or borrow and appropriate a sum of money for the improvement of the said way.
Article 47. ON PETITION. To see if the Town will vote to instruct the Selectmen to require that all Town officials, Department Heads and special bodies of persons empowered by the Town to act under pub- lic authority, submit each year to the Board of Select- men a full and itemized account of all expenditures of public moneys which they have made, and to see if the Town will vote to instruct the Selectmen to pub- lish said accounts each year in the Town report.
Article 48. ON PETITION. To see if the Town will vote to instruct the Selectmen to publish each year in the Town report, the total amount of salary, wages or compensation received by each and every paid employee of the Town of Braintree.
Article 49. To see what sum or sums of money will be appropriated to reimburse ELLEN BROWN to compensate her for the use of her premises by the Sewer Commission to deposit refuse and other ma- terial or take any action thereto.
Article 50. To see if the Town will vote to aban- don as and for a public way, that portion of GROVE STREET lying between the Eastern Massachusetts Street Railway Company's High Tension Line and

Land of Ina Cutting, as shown on Plan 286 on file in the Town Engineer's Office.
Article 51. To see if the Town will raise and ap- propriate a sum of money in addition to sums of money already appropriated, to cover the town's share of materials, trucking and other necessary expenses in connection with E. R. A. projects as may be approved by the Finance Committee, or take any action relative thereto.
Article 52. To see if the Town will vote to autho- rize its Selectmen to sell either at a private sale or public auction the following property owned by the Town of Braintree: to wit :-

Article 54. To see what sums of money the Town will vote to raise or borrow and appropriate for the expenses of the Planning Board, or take any action relative thereto.

To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate a sum of money from the income and revenue of the Water Department of the Town of Braintree for the general operating expenses of the Town; and to see if the Town will vote to authorize the Water Commissioners to transfer the said sum of money to the Town Treasurer to be used to defray the general operating expenses of the Town, or take any other action relative thereto.
Article 56. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate a sum of money from the income and revenue of the Electric Light Department of the Town of Braintree for the general operating expenses of the Town; and to see if the Town will vote to authorize the Electric Light Commissioners to transfer the said sum of money to the Town Treasurer to be used to defray the general operating expenses of the Town, or take any other action relative thereto.
Article 57. To see what disposition the Town will vote to make of money received from Dog Licenses.
Article 58. ON PETITION. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate such money as may be necessary for the purpose of purchasing or taking land in Precinct Two and constructing a grade school building thereon, and purchasing the equipment for same, and to authorize the Treasurer with the ap- proval of the Selectmen to borrow all or any part of said sum, or take any action in relation thereto.
