All registered voters in the town must sign the Assessors' card each year, using their name exactly as shown on the voting list. If this is not done the name will be stricken from the list and it will be necessary to re-register.
Women who marry after January 1, to avoid re-registering, must notify the Town Clerk of their change of name within three months.

To either of the Constables of the Town of Swampscott in said County,
Greeting:
In the name of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts you are di- rected to notify the inhabitants of the town of Swampscott, qualified to vote in elections and in town affairs, to assemble in their respec- tive precincts, in said Swampscott, on Monday, the fifteenth day of February, at 7 A.M., then and there to act on the following articles, viz .:
At the close of the election the meeting will adjourn to Tues- day, February 23, 1937, at 7.45 P.M., at the Town Hall.
Article 1. To choose a Moderator for one (1) year.
To choose a Town Clerk for one (1) year.
To choose three members of the Board of Selectmen for one (1) year.
To choose one member of the Board of Assessors for three (3) years.
To choose one member of the School Committee for three (3) years.
To choose one member of the Board of Public Welfare for three (3) years.
To choose one member of the Board of Health for three (3) years.
To choose one member of the Water and Sewerage Board for three (3) years.

Article 4. To see what amount of bonds will be required of the Town Clerk and Custodian of Trust Funds for the ensuing year.

To see if the town will vote to authorize the Town Treasurer, with the approval of the Selectmen, to borrow money, from time to time, in anticipation of the revenue of the financial year, beginning January 1, 1937, and to issue a note or notes, there- for, payable within one year, and to renew any note or notes as may be given for a period of less than one year, in accordance with Section 17, Chapter 44, General Laws.
Article 6. To see what action the town will take in relation to salaries of elected town officials for the ensuing year.
Article 7. To see what action the town will take in relation to the recommendations not calling for the appropriation of money, as contained in the reports of officers, boards or committees.
Article 8. To see what action the town will take in relation to the recommendations calling for the appropriation or expenditure of money, and creation of a debt, or the disposition of town property, as set forth in the reports of officers, boards or committees.
Article 9. To see what action the town will take in relation to ! the appropriation of money for departmental and other expenses, as listed in the budget in the Selectmen's report.
Article 10. To see if the town will vote to appropriate to the account of Unpaid Bills the sum of $548.33 to cover bills contracted prior to January 1, 1937, and remaining unpaid at the time of clos- ing the books for the year 1936: Insurance, $226.93; Fire, $86.17; Town Hall, $125.13; Dog Officer, $104.00; Soldiers' Relief, $6.10.

Article 11. To see if the town will authorize the Board of Public Welfare to appoint one of its own members as agent and investigat- ing officer and fix the salary of such an appointee at $1200 and ap- propriate money therefor, as provided by Chapter 41, Section 4A, of the General Laws, (Ter. Ed.).
Article 12. To see if the town will authorize the Bureau of Old Age Assistance to appoint one of its own members as agent and investigating officer.
Article 13. To see if the town will authorize the Board of As- sessors, the Park Commission, the Board of Public Welfare and the Planning Board to appoint a member of such boards to act as secre- tary thereof and receive pay therefor, as provided by Chapter 41, Section 4A, of the General Laws (Ter. Ed.).
Article 14. To see if the town will vote to purchase certain necessary equipment for the fire alarm system and to do such work as is necessary for its proper installation and appropriate the sum of $4,875 as recommended by the Board of Fire Engineers.
Article 15. To see if the town will vote to appropriate five hun- dred dollars ($500) for 500 feet 21/2 inch cotton rubber-lined fire hose, as recommended by the Board of Fire Engineers.
Article 16. To see if the town will vote to appropriate one hundred fifty dollars ($150) to place a fire alarm box at the junction of Devens road, Banks road and Redington street, as recommended by the Board of Fire Engineers.
Article 17. To see if the town will authorize the Board of Park Commissioners to build a field house, approximately 52 feet by 68 feet, as shown by plans of Edward T. Wiley, architect, to be located on the northwest corner of Phillips Park and appropriate money therefor, as recommended by the Park Commissioners.
Article 18. To see if the town will authorize the Board of Park Commissioners to fill in another strip at Phillips Park adjacent to east side and the length of the new football field and appropriate five thousand dollars ($5,000) therefor, as recommended by the Park Commissioners.
Article 19. To see if the town will authorize the Board of Park Commissioners to hire trucks for the removal of surplus material from the State Road Boston and Maine R. R. underpass project to Phillips Park and appropriate five hundred dollars ($500) therefor, as recommended by the Park Commissioners.
Article 20. To see if the town will authorize the Board of Park Commissioners to purchase playground equipment, as recommended by the Planning Board, to be located on Jackson and Abbott Parks, and appropriate four hundred thirty dollars ($430) therefor, as re- commended by the Park Commissioners.
Article 21. To see if the town will authorize the Board of Park Commissioners to build sixty (60) lineal feet of ten (10) row bleach- ers, duplicating present steel bleachers, with thirty (30) lineal feet to be located on each end of the present steel bleachers on the foot- ball field at Phillips Park, and appropriate seventeen hundred dollars ($1700) therefor, as recommended by the Park Commissioners.
Article 22. To see if the town will authorize the Board of Park Commissioners to build three hundred ten (310) lineal feet of chain link fence to be four (4) feet high to be located on Essex street between the two stone piers at the entrance to Jackson Park and appropriate two hundred seventy five dollars ($275) therefor, as recommended by the Park Commissioners.
Article 23. To see if the town will authorize the Board of Park Commissioners to build an electric weld fence to be four (4) feet high to be located around the Abbott Memorial on Abbott Park and

appropriate one hundred and sixty-five dollars ($165) therefor, as recommended by the Park Commissioners.
Article 24. To see if the town will appropriate eight thousand dollars ($8,000), which is an amount equal to that received by the town from insurance on the building occupied by the Veterans of Foreign Wars; to be used for the erection or purchase of a suitable building for the benefit of the Veterans of Foreign Wars; provided the necessary funds can be obtained from the Federal government or other agency to erect or purchase this building as a Federal pro- ject.
Article 25. To see what action the town will take in relation to the appropriation or raising of money for permanent street and for sidewalk construction.
