COMMONWEALTH OF MASSACHUSETTS NORFOLK, ss.
To the Constables of the Town of Weymouth in said County. GREETING:
In the name of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts you are hereby required to notify and warn the inhabitants of Weymouth aforesaid qualified to vote in Town affairs to meet in the Hall of the Weymouth High School, Monday the fifth day of March, 1928 at seven o'clock and forty-five minutes in the evening, then and there to act upon the following articles, namely :
Art. 1. To see what sums of money the Town will vote to raise and appropriate for the salaries, operation and expenses during the current fiscal year of each of the following Town departments, to wit:

and to determine in each case how and under whose direction the money shall be expended and to impose any conditions and restrictions thereon which the Town may think fit, or take any other action in regard to the same.
Art. 2. To take any action that the Town may think proper upon the reports of the several town Boards and Committees and · appoint or change any committee that the Town may think proper.
Art. . 3. To see if the Town will vote to authorize its Treasurer, with the approval of its Selectmen, to borrow money in anticipation of the revenue of the current financial year.
Art. 4. To see if the Town will vote to authorize its Treasurer, with the approval of its Selectmen, on and after January 1st, 1929, to borrow money in anticipation of the revenue of the year 1929.
Art. 5. To see what Banks and Trust Companies the Town will designate as legal depositories of the moneys and securities of the Town, or take any other action in regard to designating or authorizing the designation of such depositories.
Art. 6. To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise and appropriate for the payment of unpaid bills.
Art. 7. To see what sum of money the Town will vote from surplus for the use of the Assessors in determining the tax rate for the year 1928.
Art. 8. To determine in what manner taxes shall be collected the current year, and fix the rate of interest on all taxes remaining unpaid after the time fixed for paymnt.
Art. 9. To see what sum of money the Town will vote to ap- propriate for the erection of a new town office building, and for the furnishings of the same, for moving the records and other property of the Town from the present town offices into said building when completed, for grading and landscaping the grounds, including the

construction on said grounds of an open air auditorium and for any and all other incidental expenses connected therewith, and to determine the manner in which the money so appropriated shall be raised, whether by loan or otherwise, and to fix the terms and conditions of any loan or loans necessary to procure said funds, and to authorize the issue of bonds or notes therefor, or take any other action in rela- tion thereto.
Art. 10. To see if the Town will adopt the recommendations of the Committee to which was referred the subject of a war memorial or memorials, and to see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise and appropriate for said purpose, or take any other action in reference thereto.
Art. 11. To see if the Town will instruct the Selectmen to terminate the Town's tenancy of the present Town Offices at such time as the new Town Office Building is ready for occupancy, or take any other action in reference thereto.
Art. 12. To see if the Town will authorize the Electric Light Committee to contract with the Weymouth Light & Power Company for the furnishing lights for the Town, or take any other action in reference thereto.
Art. 13. ON PETITION: To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate a sum of money to light properly Columbian Square, and direct the committee on Electric Lighting to carry the above into effect.
Art. 14. To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise and appropriate to light properly Lincoln Square and direct the committee on electric lighting to carry out the above vote.
Art. 15. By request of the Chief of Police: To see if the Town will vote to appoint a committee of not more than five to consider the installation of a police signal system, and report at the next special or annual town meeting, or take any action relative thereto.
Art. 16. To see if the Town will appoint a committee to recom- mend a site and procure estimates for a new fire station in Ward 2, said committee to report at the next annual town meeting.
Art. 17. ON PETITION, To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise and appropriate to install a fire alarm box at the corner of Pleasantview Avenue and Hibiscus Avenue.
Art. 18. To see if the Town willl accept the several reports of the Selectmen, laying out as Town ways the following designated private ways, or any of them, to wit:

Lakewood Road Manatee Road Nevin Road Ocean Avenue

and will authorize the Board of Selectmen to acquire by gift or take by right of eminent domain an easement for all purposes of a public street and highway in and over each of said streets as so laid out, or take any other action in relation thereto.
Art. 19. To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise and appropriate for the working of each of the above named streets including the acquisition of the easements referred to in the preceding article.
Art. 20. To se if the Town will accept the several reports of the Selectmen relocating certain corners of each of the following streets, to wit:
The Northwesterly corner of Broad and Commercial Streets.
The Northwesterly corner of Cottage and Commercial Streets.
The four corners of Middle Street at its crossing Washington Street.
and will authorize the Board of Selectmen to acquire by purchase or take by right of eminent domain an easement for all purposes of a public way and highway in and over the land included in each of said streets as so relocated and widened, or take any other action in rela- tion thereto, and to see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise and appropriate for the working of said streets as so laid out, or take any other action in relation thereto.
Art. 21. To see if the Town will vote to accept the report of the Selectmen on the lay out and widening of Pleasant Street from Lovells Corner to Pine Street, and will authoriz the Board of Selectmen to ac- quire by gift or purchase or take by right of eminent domain an easement for all purposes of a public street over the land included in said widening, or take any other action relative thereto, and to see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise and appropriate for said purpose including the acquisition of said easement.
Art. 22. ON PETITION: To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise and appropriate to drain and repair Filomena Street, or take any other action relative thereto.
Art. 23. ON PETITION: To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate $700 to repair Carroll Street, or take any other action relative thereto.
Art. 24. ON PETITION: To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise and appropriate for the purpose of constructing a permanent sidewalk on Washington Street in front of the property of Silas W. Newcomb to a point opposite the residence of William R. Martin, or take any other action relative thereto.
Art. 25. To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise and appropriate for the building of a permanent silewalk on the west side of Washington Street between Richmond and Prospect Streets, or take any other action rlative thereto.
Art. 26. ON PETITION: To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise and appropriate for the construction of a sidewalk on the easterly side of Main Street commencing at the junction of said Main Street with Middle Street and extending from that point northerly on said street to the residence of Effa P. Ellis, or take any other action relative thereto.

Art. 27. To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise and appropriate to cover the drain and build a sidewalk on Tremont Street, or take any other action relative thereto.
Art. 28. To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise and appropriate for the equipment and maintenance of a children's reading room at Tufts Library or take any other action relative thereto.
Art. 29. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate $500 to be used in the levelling and rough grading of a portion of the playground adjoining the Bicknell School lot, for the purpose of in- creasing the area of the skating pond, or take any other action rela- tive thereto.
Art. 30. To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise and appropriate to purchase or take by right of eminent domain the parcel of land at the corner of Sea Street and the entrance to the Bicknell School lot now owned by George A. Walker, for the im- provement of and protection to the school property, or take any other action in relation thereto.
Art. 31. ON PETITION: To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate a sufficient sum of money to grade the baseball field at the Lovells Corner playground, or take any other action in relation thereto.
Art. 32. ON PETITION: To see if the Town will vote to au- thorize the Board of Park Commissioners to acquire by purchase or take by right of eminent domain so much of the so-called Tirrell lot at the Northwesterly corner of Broad and Commercial Streets, as is not included in the relocation and widening spoken of in Article 20, or take any other action in reference thereto, and to see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise and appropriate for said purpose, including the acquisition of the said land.
Art. 33. To see if the Town will authorize the issuance of not to exceed $15,000.00 in bonds or notes for the construction of Water Mains of six inches or more in diameter, said bonds or notes to be payable within fifteen years of the date of issue and in accordance with Section 19 of Chapter 44 of the General Laws.
Art. 34. To see if the Town will authorize the appropriation of not to exceed $20,000.00 from the general fund of the Water Depart- ment for carrying on necessary work for private parties; payments for said work to revert to the General Fund.
Art. 35. To see if the Town will vote to authorize the Board of Water Commissioners to acquire by purchase or take by right of eminent domain under the provisions of Chapter 79 and Section 41 of Chapter 40 of the General Laws for the purpose of preserving the purity of the water supply, the whole or any portion of the land lying within the watershed of Weymouth Great Pond and not already owned by the Town, or authorize to be acquired under some other vote, such takings to be made from time to time as the said Board shall deem the interest of the Town require and no land to be ac- quired in excess of the amount which in the opinion of the Board can be acquired within the limits of the money appropriated from time to time for that purpose by the Town.
Art. 36. To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise by loan or otherwise, and appropriate for the acquisition by purchase or eminent domain of the land referred to in the preceding articles, and

to determine by vote the manner in which the funds for said purpose shall be raised and the terms and canditions of any loan or loans necessary to procure such funds, and to authorize the issue of bonds or notes for same, or take any other action in relation thereto.
Art. 37. ON PETITION: To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate a sufficient sum of money to provide for the install- ing of a hydrant and the replacing of the present water main on Adams Place with one of greater capacity, or take any other action relative thereto.
Art. 38. ON PETITION: To see if the Town will vote to lay deep water mains, hydrants, gate valves, etc., in Lakewood Grove and Birches in accordance with plan prepared by the New England In- surance Exchange, and estimates submitted by Mr. Stevens of the Water Department, dated September 6th, 1927, and supplemental sheet in the sum of $50,338.40 and that assessments pro rata for half of this improvement shall be placed on the tax bills of all owners of property in three or more equal payments.
Art. 39. ON PETITION: To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate a sufficient sum of money to have the garbage and rubbish collected, or take any other action relative thereto.
Art. 40. To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise and appropriate to build and maintain a bath house on the beach of Great Hill Park, or take any other action relative thereto. Art. 41. To see if the Town will vote to accept from Frederic Gilbert Bauer a deed of certain lots of land adjoining Weston Park, so-called, and will vote to place the same under the jurisdiction of the Park Commissioners, or take any other action in relation thereto.
Art. 42. To see if the Town willl vote to accept from Frederic Gilbert Bauer a deed of certain lots of land near Weymouth Great Pond and to determine what disposition the Town will make of same, or take any other action in reference thereto.
Art. 43. ON PETITION: To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate a sum of money to provide permanent quarters for Wessagussett Post No. 1399 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States, this is in accordance with Chapter 40, Section 9, General Laws.
Art. 44. To see if the Town will vote to take charge of any or all of the abandoned or neglected burying grounds in the Town and keep the same in good order, and to see what sum of money the Town will appropriate for said purpose under Section 18 of Chapter 14 of the General Laws, or take any other action in reference thereto.
Art. 45. To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise and appropriate to care and keep in good order and to protect by proper fences any or all burying grounds within the Town in which ten or more bodies are interred and which are not properly cared for by the owners, or take any other action in reference thereto.
Art. 46. To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise and appropriate for the copying, indexing, preservation and binding of the Town Records, or take any other action in regard to the same. Art. 47. To see if the Town will authorize its Selectmen to sell any real estate of which it may be possessed and for which it has no further use.
Art. 48. ON PETITION: To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate a sufficient sum of money for the purpose of taking care of the surface water at the corner of Front Street and Ells Avenue, or take any other action.

Art. 49. To see if the Town will vote to authorize the Select- men to sell at public auction or private sale on such terms and at such price as they may deem for the best interests of the Town all real estate of which the Town has possession or title for nonpayment of taxes, and will ratify any such sales already made, or take any other action in regard to same.
Art. 50. To see if the Town will instruct the Board of Select- men to petition the General Court of the Commonwealth for legal action, authorizing the re-opening of certain awards made for the widening of Bridge Street, and to pay such amounts as may be awarded in revision, or take any other action in reference thereto.
You are further required to notify and warn said inhabitants of Weymouth qualified to vote in elections, to meet at the polling places in their respective precincts to wit: In Precinct 1, 3, 5 and 6, in the halls of the Fire Engine Houses located in those precincts respectively; in Precinct 2 at G. A. R. Hall; in Precinct 4 at the building of the Citizens' Association, Inc., on Front Street; in Pre- cinct 7, at the Lovell's Corner Improvement Association Building on Washington Street; in Precinct 8, at the Weymouth Heights Club Building on North Street.
