The tellers reported 134 voting in the affirmative and none in the negative.
Art. 36. Voted unanimously: That there be appropriated the sum of $31,500.00 for the purpose of acquiring by purchase or right of eminent domain, the land described in the vote under article 35 and that to meet said appropriation there be taken from the revenue of the Water Department for the current year the sum of $16,500.00 and that the Treasurer with the approval of the Selectmen be and hereby is authorized to borrow a sum not to exceed $15,000.00, and to issue bonds or notes to be payable in accordance with the provisions of Section 19 of Chapter 44 of the General Laws, so that the whole loan shall be paid in not more than thirty years from the date of issue of the first bond or note or at such earlier dates as the Treasurer and Select- men may designate.

Stanley Heald moved as an amendment to the amendment that the words "Under the direction of the Board of Health" be added.
Joseph A. Fern moved as a substitute motion: That this question be referred to the Board of Health, they to report at the next Town Meeting.

Art. 41. Voted: To accept from Frederic Gilbert Bauer a deed or deeds of certain lots adjoining Weston Park so-called, to wit: Lots 5, 6 and 7 as shown on plan 5693-G on file with Certificate 8999 in the office of the Assistant Recorder of the Land Court for the Registry District of Norfolk County and lots 8-9-10-11-12 and 13 as shown on Plan 5693-J on file with Certificate 9371 in the office of the Assistant Recorder for the Registry District of Norfolk County and that the same when acquired be placed under the jurisdiction of the Board of Park Commissioners for use as a public park.
Art. 42. Voted: To accept from Frederic Gilbert Bauer a deed of certain lands lying easterly of the land whose taking was authorized by the Town under article 58 of the warrant for the annual Town Meeting held in March, 1927, and that the Board of Selectmen be authorized to sell or exchange the same or to convey the same in whole or in part release of any claim for land damages accruing by reason of said taking or otherwise dispose of the same as they may consider for the best interests of the Town.
Art. 43. Voted: That the Town raise and appropriate the sum of $600.00 to provide suitable quarters for Wessagussett Post, Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States.
Art. 44-45. Voted: That the Board of Selectmen be authorized to take charge of and keep in good order any or all abandoned or neglected burying grounds within the Town and to keep in good order and protect by proper fences any or all burying grounds within the Town in which ten or more bodies are interred which are not properly cared for by the owners, in accordance with the provisions of Section 16 and 18 of Chapter 144 of the General Laws, and that the sum of $1,000.00 be raised and appropriated to be spent under direction of the Selectmen for the foregoing purpose.
Art .. 46. Voted: To raise and appropriate the sum of $1,000.00 for the copying, indexing, preserving and binding of the Town Records.
Art. 47. Voted: That the Selectmen be and hereby are authorized to sell any real estate of which the Town is possessed and for which it has no further use.
Art. 48. Voted: That the subject matter of this article be re- ferred to the Street Department, the cost, if any, to be taken from the rgular appropriation of that Department.
Art. 49. Voted: That the Selectmen be and hereby are au- thorized to sell at public auction or private sale and on such terms and at such price as they may deem for the best interests of the Town, all real estate for which the Town has possession or title for non- payment of taxes, and that any such sales heretofore made, be ap- proved, ratified and confirmed.
Art. 50. Voted: That the Board of Selectmen be authorized and instructed to petition the General Court of the Commonwealth for legislation which shall authorize the opening of such awards heretofore made by the Department of Public Works of the Commonwealth, for the widening of Bridge Street as in the opinion of said Board of selectmen justice and equity may require to be reopened and author- izing the Town to pay the amount of said awards as so revised.

Moran and 164 others having been presented to the Selectmen, asking that a referendum vote be taken on the vote passed under article 9 of the warrant for the annual meet- ing of March 5, 1928, the Selectmen signed the following warrant as provided in Section 8 of Chapter 61 of the Acts of 1921, under which the Town of Weymouth is governed.
WARRANT FOR SPECIAL TOWN MEETING COMMONWEALTH OF MASSACHUSETTS
NORFOLK, ss.
To the Constables of the Town of Weymouth in said County, GREETING :
In the name of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts you are

hereby required ot notify and warn the inhabitants of Weymouth, qualified to vote upon questions submitted to the voters at large to meet at the polling places in their respective precincts, to wit: In pre- cincts 1-3-5 and 6 in the halls of the Fire Engine houses in those pre- cincts respectively ; in precinct 2 at G. A. R. hall; in precinct 4 at the building of the Citizens' Association, Inc. on Front St .; in precinct 7 at the Lovell's Corner Association building on Washington St .; in precinct 8 at the Weymouth Heights Club building on North street. Tuesday, the 27th day of March, 1928, at 2 o'clock in the afternoon, then and there to bring in to the wardens of their several precincts, their votes upon the following question, which is submitted to the voters at large under the provisions of Section 8 of Chapter 61 of the Acts of 1921.
"Shall the Town appropriate the sum of $11,267.35, this being the sum held as the proceeds of sale of real estate, and further raise and appropriate the sum of $163,732.65 for the erection of a new Town Office Building and for any other incidental expenses connected there- with".
The polls will be closed at eight o'clock in the evening.
You are directed to serve this warrant by posting a copy thereof attested by you in writing, in each of two public places in each voting precinct in said Town, seven days at least before the time for holding said meeting.
Hereof fail not, and make due return of this warrant with your doings thereon, to the Town Clerk of said Town, on or before the twenty-second day of March, A. D., 1928.

WARRANT FOR PRESIDENTIAL PRIMARY THE COMMONWEALTH OF MASSACHUSETTS
NORFOLK, ss
To either of the Constables of the Town of Weymouth GREETING :
In the name of the Commonwealth you are hereby required to notify and warn the inhabitants of said town who are qualified to vote in primaries to meet at their respective precincts, to wit: in precincts 1-3-5 and 6 in the halls of the Fire Engine Houses, located in those precincts respectively ; in precinct 2 at G. A. R. hall; in precinct 4 at the building of the Citizen's' Association, Inc. on Front street; in precinct 7 at the Lovell's Corner Improvement Building on Washington Street; in precinct 8 at the Weymouth Heights Club Building on North Street,
TUESDAY, THE TWENTY-FOURTH DAY OF APRIL, 1928 at two o'clock P. M. for the following purposes :
To bring in their votes to the Primary Officer for the election of candidates of Political Parties for the following offices:
7 Delegates. at Large to the National Convention of the Republican party.
7 Alternate Delegates at Large to the National Convention of the Republican Party.
8 Delegates at Large to the National Convention of the Democratic Party.
8 Alternate Delegates at Large to the National Convention of the Democratic Party.
2 District Delegates to the National Convention of the Republican Party, 14th Congressional District.
2 District Alternate Delegates to the National Convention of the Re- publican Party, 14th Congressional District.
4 District Delegates to the National Convention of the Democratic Party, 14th Congressional District.
4 Alternate District Delegates to the National Convention of the Democratic Party, 14th Congressional District.
PRESIDENTIAL PREFERENCE
Preference for Republican Candidate for President of the United States.
Preference for Democratic Candidate for President of the United States.
The polls will be open from two o'clock to eight o'clock p. m.
And you are directed to serve this warrant by posting attested copies thereof seven days at least bfore the time of said meeting as directed by vote of the town.

Hereof fail not and make due return of this warrant with your doings thereon at the time and place of said meeting.
